BBC reporter in Krygyzstan: 'Crowd is out of control'

BBC correspondent Rayhan Demytrie reports from the main square in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on the violence that has left 17 people dead.

Protesters attacked the government building and stormed TV and radio offices. Police reportedly fired live rounds at protesters.

President Kurmanbek Bakiyev declared a state of emergency in affected areas.

The protesters are angry at rising energy prices and accuse President Bakiyev of failing to curb corruption.
