Monica Beresford-Redman, the wife of award-winning 'Survivor' producer Bruce Beresford-Redman, who has been missing for two days in Cancun, was found dead Thursday in a sewer at the resort where they were on a family vacation, a Mexican official said according to the AP.
The official from the attorney general's office in Quintana Roo state, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said police have named the TV producer as a suspect in his wife's death.
No cause of death has been determined, however Reforma.com was reporting Thursday that Beresford-Redman may have been strangled.

A witness at the Moon Palace Resort told officials that the couple had been seen arguing on Sunday. Monica's sister, 46-year old Carla Burgos, told the Los Angeles Times, "They were having some troubles, but I didn't think he was capable of something like that."
"I would imagine nobody could do anything bad to her. Anybody close to her would be in love with her," Burgos added.
Earlier, CBS News reported that Monica Beresford-Redman went on a shopping trip on Monday and never returned. She was supposed to return home today, her birthday.
The couple's two children, Camila, 4, and Alec, 1, had traveled with them to Cancun.
After her disappearance, Bruce Beresford-Redman exuded confidence that his wife would be found.
"I'm very hopeful someone will find my wife very soon. She still hasn't been located and we're looking," Bruce Beresford-Redman said in an interview.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that a missing person's report was filed and that the U.S. State Department and Embassy in Cancun had been notified.
According to CBS, Beresford-Redman last worked on 'Survivor' in 2004. He also produced and wrote episodes of the car-centric show 'Pimp My Ride' and the short-lived reality series 'The Restaurant.'

husband already arrested! sad how women are being murdered instead of divorced!!!! why isnt this a hate crime??
Lori:
A "hate crime" is one that usually has racial overtones. That, so far, does not seem to be the case here.
I hope it WAS the husband, I love the Moon Palace !!
So what, a lot of people die in Mexico. Mexico is a death trap.
Lori you're an idiot.
Reply
George? In this instance, You seem to be the idiot. Do you even Know what a "hate crime" Is? Apparently not. It was once said that it is better to be silent, and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth, and to remove all doubt.
Lori, you're an idiot.

Why is Lori an idiot? A hate crime is one that has racial and/or sexual orientation undertones. It does not apply to a husband killing his wife.....George you need to get the facts and stop calling names when the person is actually right.
Nancy, George is correct, she is and idiot and so are you. George said exactly what you said in reference to a hate crime.
This is what George was answering too:

And for just a footnote. Where in the article does it say that the husband was arrested? Therefore, Lori is 2X and idiot.
"Nancy, George is correct, she is and idiot --"
"This is what George was answering too:"
" Therefore, Lori is 2X and idiot."
Some folks might include people who don't know the differences in "to" and "too" or "an" and "and" in the potential idiot list, especially when those are the folks who are the quickest to label others as idiots.
Lori, I thought your post was a good one. More and more people are turning to murder as a way out of a marriage. It's both creepy AND sad.
George- you don't sound to smart your self.Have a little respect for people!!!
Nope, George is right.
tyrebrite, thanks for speaking for everyone hahaha I was reading babygirl's post and was wondering how someone could label someone an idiot when their spelling is quite atrocious (sp?) lol
Maybe she watches the news and he WAS arrested, we dont' know, but I agree with Lori, why do men/women have to murder their wives/husbands instead of just leaving them or divorcing thme.
A hate crime is just that - when you HATE someone enough to KILL them - it surely is not just RACIAL - Everyone is at risk for this at some point and time in their lives! Many probably don't even realize it!
Dear Babygirl,
Perhaps you should go back to school before you try to post responses in which you try to berate someone. (I know, that is a big word - just go look it up in the dictionary.)
In fact, maybe you should learn to READ first as well. George was NOT the one who said anything about a hate crime. All George did was post twice that Lori is an idiot. (At least HE wrote it correctly even if he was being snarky!)
And he wasn't referring TOO...he was referring TO.
Also, the correct wording would be "She is two times (there is no such thing as 2X - it isn't a word - stop texting...you can't even spell anymore!) AN idiot. Not AND idiot. And I know it wasn't just a typo because you wrote it more than once.
So before you start trying to correct someone, be sure YOU are correct.
Oh, and babygirl? You and George are BOTH idiots :)
So the Mexican authorities arrest the husband based upon suspicion, not proof. And of course there is no chance whatsoever that she was a victim of street crime by members of some drug cartel.

Hey rev, would you please tell me just WHERE in the above article does it specifically say the husband was ARRESTED? The article ONLY says that he was "named as a suspect". That means that CHARGES HAVE NOT YET BEEN MADE! Get your facts straight before you post, please.
Well, Mexican laws are not the same as American laws. So, just FYI..in Mexico you are GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT.
