Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad celebrates the best in Canadian and international arts and popular culture. CODE, the Cultural Olympiad’s digital edition. Canada CODE gives people who live in this country a collaborative way to share who we are with each other and the world.

Aboriginal Participation

VANOC’s goal is to achieve unprecedented Aboriginal participation in the planning and hosting of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. We’ll do this by developing strong relationships with Aboriginal peoples – First Nations, Inuit and Métis – and the support of our Partners.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) was created on 23 June 1894; the 1st Olympic Games of the modern era opened in Athens on 6 April 1896; and the Olympic Movement has not stopped growing ever since.
