Payment and Fees

Payment

Acceptable forms of payment for Vancouver 2010 tickets

  • Visa: In recognition of Visa's support of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are proud to accept only Visa payment cards. For more information on how to obtain a Visa card, visit your financial institution or Visa.ca.
  • Cash is accepted at Main Ticket Centres and venue box offices during Games time. To learn more about the timing and phases of the Vancouver 2010 Ticketing Program, visit How to Buy Tickets.

Fees

Delivery Fee

Your Vancouver 2010 ticketing account is used for both Olympic and Paralympic ticket purchases. Tickets purchased in Phases 1 and 2 were charged a $10 or $20 dollar delivery fee and were sent by secure Purolator courier in December 2009 or January 2010. Tickets purchased closer to Games time and during the Games can be picked up at any Main Ticket Centre or venue box office.

Fan-to-fan marketplace fees
The fan-to-fan marketplace is the most secure way to buy tickets from other fans or legitimately sell your Vancouver 2010 tickets.

  • Seller
Posting price: The price that other fans will see when they search for tickets. As the seller you determine the posted price of the tickets you are trying to sell. The fan-to-fan marketplace is an open marketplace so the lowest priced tickets will sell the quickest. Please note: You may not sell below the face value of the ticket.

Posting fee: For each ticket you sell through the fan-to-fan marketplace, you will be reimbursed the price at which you sold the ticket minus a 10% posting fee. For example, if you sell a ticket for $100 then you will be reimbursed $90.

Reimbursement: This is the total that you will be reimbursed in April 2010 should your tickets sell at the posted price. Your reimbursement will include the face value of your ticket and the markup over face value but will not include the fulfillment fee or posting fee.

  • Buyer
Posted price: This is the price that you, the buyer, will see when you view listings in the fan-to-fan marketplace. The posted price is determined by the Vancouver 2010 account holder selling the ticket. As it is an open marketplace it’s important for buyers to check back often — the lowest priced tickets will sell quickly and new tickets can be posted any time.

  • Fan-to-fan marketplace fee: The buyer will pay the posted price of the ticket as well as a 10% fan-to-fan marketplace fee.

VANOC is working with its transportation partners to deliver an efficient and sustainable transportation service. As there will be no public parking at venues, walking, cycling and the use of public transportation are strongly encouraged.

  • Local Transportation
A fulfillment fee will apply to each ticket. This fee provides the ticket holder with access to local public transit in Metro Vancouver or  in Whistler on the date of the ticketed session. Fulfillment fees are structured on a sliding scale based on ticket price.

Real 2010 Tickets

The Vancouver 2010 fan-to-fan marketplace allows ticket holders to safely donate or post their tickets for sale through vancouver2010.com, should they not be able to attend an event. The fan-to-fan marketplace provides ticket buyers with the comfort of knowing they have purchased authentic tickets through a legitimate source — as tickets bought from an unauthorized source may not be valid and may not be accepted for entry to 2010 Winter Games events.
