What Is The Cultural Olympiad?

Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad, presented by Bell, is inspired by culture’s role as the second pillar of the Olympic Movement. Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad encompasses music, dance, theatre, visual arts, film, and literary, digital and new media events in venues throughout the Sea to Sky corridor

When Is It?

Cultural Olympiad 2010 kicks off 60 days of celebration on January 22, 2010 and continues through March 21, 2010. 

What’s On?

With more than 600 free and ticketed performances and exhibitions by Canadian and international artists, there’s something for everyone. Music and theatre fans can catch Laurie Anderson, Martha Wainwright and Jorane, Robert Lepage and Juste pour rire 2010. Classical music and opera lovers can take in Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Vancouver Opera’s production of Nixon in China. And for a digital experience, connect to CODE, the Cultural Olympiad’s digital edition.
