Pakistan Fashion Week Kicks Off (PHOTOS, POLL)

Following the Fashion Week held in Karachi last November, Pakistan Fashion Week got underway in the same city on Monday, where it's schedule to showcase 52 designers--49 of them are from Pakistan, while the others are from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates, the AFP reports. The designs on day one showed an aesthetic that's all over the map, from modest to revealing and even cartoonish. Vote for which looks you like best.

Lovely. So many beautiful women in Pakistan.

Have to say, though, that I hesitated to praise the head scarves, because of what they can represent in Muslim countries, but in this fashion show they are lovely.

I can understand your concerns about the headscarf but just wanted to say in Pakistani contexts it's not necessarily forced upon a woman. Most of my female cousins have dabbled with the hijab at one stage or the other in their life without anyone else's interference and all of them have subsequently decided not to wear it after a few months or at max a year
