Documents, Print-Outs Taken By Investigators

Investigators from the Harris County District Attorney's Office were at METRO's headquarters Thursday to collect documents, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Officials said it is part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that the transit agency destroyed documents relating to METRO's CEO and board members.

A team of approximately a dozen investigators and computer specialists from the district attorney's office arrived at METRO's headquarters Thursday morning and left in the afternoon with boxes of documents and computer print-outs.

The investigation stems from allegations by attorney Lloyd Kelley that a METRO attorney destroyed travel documents and e-mails related to METRO president Frank Wilson and four board members after Kelley requested copies through the Freedom of Information Act.

METRO denied the documents were destroyed and the agency requested a criminal investigation.

The district attorney's office is not commenting except to say that METRO is cooperating with the investigation.
