Frequently asked questions

Back To TopHow much of my time will it take?
Once a project has been identified, and individuals or group members selected and briefed, students should make few demands on the sponsoring organisation, other than the need to gain access to relevant data and personnel for the initial research phase. The sponsor determines the frequency with which the team or individuals report back. You will also be asked to complete an assessment of the team’s or individual’s performance at the end of the project.

Back To TopHow do I know that the students will understand my business? The brief that you submit describing the project should accurately describe the nature of your business and indicate the sort of competencies that you would like students to have. We can supply you with a template for this purpose. You will then have a chance to meet and interview students interested in working with you. With the diversity of experience and expertise our students have, the ideal candidate or team can usually be found.

Back To TopWhat can organisations expect to get in return from sponsoring a project?
    The Saïd Business School will:
    • Appoint an advisor to the team from its faculty who will provide advice and guidance to them during the project.
    • Provide a single point of contact through the Projects Office in Oxford, which is contactable throughout the implementation phase of the project.
    • Supply administrative documentation for the process.

Back To TopHow are projects set up?

The process has a number of stages:

    • The company first expresses its interest in entering into partnership with the School and submits a project brief on a supplied template.
    • Next, the Projects Office confirms that the brief meets academic requirements.
    • The brief is then offered to students who express interest in that particular project.
