07:00 AM ET 04.14 | Linebacker Gary Brackett would like some competition in camp. Brackett and weak-side linebacker Clint Session are entrenched. Philip Wheeler, a third-round pick in 2008, has yet to emerge as a consistent playmaker. Former starters Tyjuan Hagler and Freddy Keiaho have not been offered new contracts. Brackett said he wouldn't mind the Colts drafting another linebacker. "I'd love it if they brought in another guy," he said. "Competition is healthy. It increases everyone. Not only that, it's a long season. Every year, someone goes down and we need somebody to step in. I'd rather have more people in the stable when the time comes."

Why should Brackett care? It isn't his slot the theoretical new LB would be competing for.

I read it as: I have just collected my retirement fund so I can relax and start to play less plays now.
