SYNOPSIS
Remember when sex was dirty and Vegas was for adults only? This homage to mid-'60s-era bedroom comedies and rat-pack romps features live orchestra and combos, musical numbers, steamy burlesque and Vegas-style dance routines. Snappy dialogue, lots of lingerie, slow stripteases and foreplay, period costumes and live song/dance set-pieces make The Crack Pack a fun and very sexy project.
This ain’t no Ocean’s 11 parody—rather, it’s an affectionate homage to the original what-happens-in-Vegas crew—Frank, Dino and Sammy. The music is terrific and Joe Gallant’s moody direction captures the Rat Pack milieu—only here you get to imagine, with the help of Alexis Texas and Bree Olson, what a hot three-way with Dean Martin, Angie Dickinson and Marilyn Monroe might have looked like.
Opening up with a helicopter’s-eye view of Sin City and a somber voiceover, the camera dissolves back to the past for a black-and-white sequence of our three heroes, Jack Vegas, Dino Bravo and Tyler Knight, literally caught in the act: nightclub shtick complete with showgirls, jazzbo band, double entrendres and rim shots.
Ron Jeremy as impresario Lenny St. Stevens kicks off the plot by telling the boys, “You should consider adding broads to your act.” Aside from Olson and Texas, who play strippers, among the broads who vie for the spotlight are Andie Anderson, Louisa Lanewood and Sara Stone.
Though the main feature is lots of fun, the extras are what really make this two-disc set a must for Frankophiles: expanded musical numbers and comedy routines, a stripper sequence with Olson shot at the venerable Jumbo’s Clown Room, extensive BTS and outtakes, and a bonus scene from Young Hollywood with Mandy Morbid and Lystra Meadows.
