Logo Competition

A total of 10 merit awards were given out to the top five entries in the 18-and-Under Category for participants aged 18 years and below, and the top five entries in the Open Category of the Singapore 2010 Logo Design Competition.

Launched in July this year, the Singapore 2010 Logo Design Competition received a total of 1,856 entries from 44 different countries. Participants were encouraged to come up with an original and creative design that embodies a youthful spirit, the values of Olympism, and the Singaporean identity. The ease of application and reproduction of the logo designs was also taken into consideration.

The competition had provided a great opportunity to get Singaporeans and the international community involved in the run up to Singapore 2010. The variety of designs received demonstrates the dynamism of ideas and the different visions of what people around the world think the logo should look like.

With the help of a panel of 13 judges from the creative and sports industries, the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) selected 10 merit award designs from the entries received.
