Heathkit EC - 1 Educational Analog Computer
1960
Heath Company, United States

Although Heath analog computers had been available to the scientific community since 1956, a small version containing less expensive components was introduced in 1960. It could be purchased fully assembled or as a kit for $400. Numbers were represented as voltages and displayed on a front panel meter. It was programmed using patch cords that connected nine operational amplifiers and other components. Schools commonly used the EC - 1 to educate electrical engineers in analog techniques.
