Migrated from Southern California. LA Burger shacks are my favorites; Gold Star, Astro, Tommys, Carneys, Skooby's, and Weiner Factory. Willing to try any food at least 1 time. Hates pickels, raw cabbage, and vinegar on sandwiches. Life long dream is to open a Taqueria shop in Barcelona.(Something along the lines of Corrales Mexican Food in Ventura, CA)

    Burrito Experience
  • 1979-1995 : Ventura County and LA. 1st burrito from an Oxnard Mercado - shredded beef with beans and rice
  • 1995-2000 : San Diego Area - college area and any taqueria shop with prefix Alber and suffix tacos
  • 2000-Present : Bay Area (Mostly Mountain View)
  • Carnitas, Carne Asada, Pollo Asado, and Al Pastor in that order.
Currently working on achieving sushi level 5 status.

  • Level 1 - Any veggie rolls, no seafood
  • Level 2 - CA rolls and tempura seafood. Everything is cooked
  • Level 3 - Raw fish mixed with cooked seafood.
  • Level 4 - Sashimi, plain raw fish with nothing.
  • Level 5 - Living fish, exotic stuff you've read about in National Geographic, fish that kills you
Pet Peeves
  • People who expect high-end food and service for $7
  • Chinese food, you don't have to travel to New York or China
  • Food wasted at buffets
  • People who rate restaurants as terrible but cannot offer alternative places in a 100-mile distance
  • Don't keep your restaurant a secret, restaurant owners need the business

Representing Northern California and vegetarians. Willing to eat seafood when stomach can handle it. Possibly one of the fastest eaters you will encounter. Main staple of diet is the veggie burrito and sliced cheese pizza (One of his all time favorite pizza places - St. Marks Pizza, New York. Sadly they closed their doors).

"Indeed, it was a sad day when I learned that the best pizza place in NYC closed their doors. So now I am on a quest to find a new champion pizza."

"I will be the first to admit that I am not quite as hardcore at food reviewing as Jason is, but I give my honest, biased opinion."

"I have lived in the Bay Area all my life except for a 4 yr stint in New York City for College. I will throw up some reviews for my favorite college hangouts (though they are all fairly inexpensive because I lived on a college budget when I was there)."
