The odds are with us, right? We've already had the lousy Game 7 -- and the Coyotes left no doubt about making sure their debacle at home against the Red Wings would snag that distinction. So surely, tonight's tilt in the (non-Canadian) national capital will provide the drama we've come to know and love from devisive playoff hockey games. Right? Pretty please? Just don't make us watch the Bucks and Hawks, that's all we ask.

In ESPN fantasy leagues this season, Ovechkin was the overall No. 1 pick in traditional drafts and went for an average of $72 (American, we assume) in auction drafts. Halak didn't register, putting him behind the likes of Ondrej Pavelec and Scott Clemmensen. But coming off 90 saves in the last two games, would you trade Halak for Ovechkin tonight?

Who wins game 7 tonight Capitals or the hot Habs?

I still have to stay with Washington. They did get 54 shots on goal the other night. They will be on home ice. They've lost two games at home in this series, so it might not be that big of an advantage. They need to take the day-to-day with this group and try to catch their breath a little bit. Now is the time for calm and cool leadership. Bruce Boudreau, who's done outstanding with that team over the years, seems too on edge. That kind of stuff on the bench can impact the players in a negative way. I'm looking forward to it. It would be a monumental upset if Montreal can pull it off. In the Ovechkin era of playoff hockey, of their series that have gone seven games, they've won one and lost two. Full transcript

Tuesday night in Reading, Pa., Stephen Strasburg cruised through five innings against the home team without allowing a hit. In four starts with Double-A Harrisburg, he has a 0.52 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 17.1 innings. All of which raises at least one question. At least on nights when Strasburg pitches, is Harrisburg the second-best baseball team in Pennsylvania?

It's not even May, and, well, the Pirates are right where you would expect them to be. And at least one fan has had enough of this dysfunctional relationship. After shelling out money to MLB to be able to watch his favorite team from afar, blogger swysz2730 wants a refund from the man in charge.

  • "How is it that you are at fault? Well, Commish, you just let baseball do [its] own thing. You didn't try to make it competitive. You didn't try to make things legal. You didn't try to make things fair. You didn't care. Don't give me revenue sharing. Don't give me that you look over the books of every team. Don't tell me anything about your efforts to make the playing field fair. You never wanted fair, and you never cared as long as cities built new ball parks and you got paid. I'm sure you are getting paid. ...

"I'm not even going to ask that you make changes, because I know you won't. I'm not going to continue to cry about this situation, because I fully expect that, for the rest of my life, I will never see another winning season from the Pirates. All I want is my money back for this year's MLB.TV subscription."

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell proved he's willing to hand out discipline to star quarterbacks on equal footing with gridiron grunts, but does stupidity in personal conduct extend to front-office officials and what comes out of their mouths in draft interviews?

If it wasn't quite so absurdly demeaning and out of line, Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland's question to former Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant during a pre-draft interview might seem like something out of a Monty Python movie. But really, there's not a heck of a lot of humor to be found in asking a guy if his mother was a prostitute.

Ireland has since apologized to Bryant, who was selected in the first round by the Cowboys, but is that enough? On Tuesday's "Pardon the Interruption" Michael Wilbon said the question was typical of the "arrogance" shown by NFL entities. But should Goodell step in with at least a slap on the wrist?

i think the media's making the off the field issuses about Dez Bryant bigger then they seam hes never been arrested remember randy moss had more off the field issuses then him when he was drafted as a rookie in 1998 and look were hes at in his carrer

Oklahoma State WR coach Gunter Brewer told me that Bryant is a good kid whose heart in the right place, but he needs to be treated like a person, not a piece of meat. Cowboys WR coach Ray Sherman is great at building relationships with his players, so Bryant landed in a good spot. Brewer said Bryant doesn't have character issues. He has "life skills issue," the result of a difficult childhood. He has to grow up. Showing up late to meetings won't work in the NFL. Full transcript

I give him credit for not swinging at him, but I also would have given him credit for swinging at him if that was what he chose to do.

Future draft picks get asked tough questions all the time. Dez Bryant did a good job by just answering. Jeff Ireland job is to ask the tough question to evaluate character, Thats why he gets paid the big bucks. Go Dolphin!

Just for a second, as LeBron James began to take a left-handed free throw, you thought he was going to pull an Inigo Montoya and tell us he hasn't been right-handed all these years. No? Just us? Fair enough. We still say Shaq wouldl make a good Fezzik.

After leading the Cavaliers to a 96-94 win in Game 5 to finish off the Bulls, LeBron James told fans not to worry about his ailing arm -- worry he created by shooting and missing a free throw with his left hand in the game's closing moments (he hit the previous one with his right hand to put his team up by a comfortable four points).

So was James really just saving his elbow any unnecessary extra torque on the final free throw? Or might it be that King James wanted to make sure he remains the story entering the second round?

Remember how much fun it was to hear about Dwight Freeney's ankle day after day after day leading up to the Super Bowl? Get ready for the sequel.

If your not worried about it Lebron , why bring so much attention to it by shooting a free throw LEFT HANDED ?

His arm probably isn't even a problem I bet Lebron wants to make the Celtics think they have a shot at beating them just for his own sick pleasure
