Unbelievable Show

By Jason Appleton

I told everyone, whoever wasn’t at this show will kick themselves when it’s over and they are left only to hear about everything that happened.

A PRODIGY RETURNS turned out to be a barn burner of fights.

Chris Bennett suffered a defeat by 4-1 American Top Team fighter Tony Sims who proved to be a very calm and talented fighter through out. Rumor is Tony had 100 boxing fights under his belt and Bennett wasn’t prepared for his hands. Something just wasn’t right about The Samurai at this show. Many say the pressure of his pro debut set him off kilter a bit. I have to agree. He wasn’t the same Samuari Saturday night. Whether it was the mounted pressure of his debut or the simple fact that his opponent was one he wasn’t prepared for, we will see when Bennett steps into the cage hopefully in July.

Joe Ammerman made a solid comeback with the decision win over Ron Muir who was obviously a skilled wrestler.  It’s nice to see Ammerman back in the cage.

Lucas Lopez, now 19-8 with his KO victory over the also seasoned Veteran Bubba McDaniel. I tell you what, for a guy that looked to be blindly swinging for the fences he did a number on Bubba who was initially handing Lucas his ass. One second changed everything as Bubba laid there and when he finally was able to get up he was completely out of it. He asked me what happened. I said “You got caught bro. Knocked out” and he couldn’t believe it.These guys are amazing to me. Win or lose I have nothing but complete respect for them and talking to Bubba a bit over the weekend proved hes actually a funny character.

Since Bubba defeated Mojo Horne by catching him with an uppercut that shattered his nose causing Mojo to lose vision from which the Doctor stopped the fight, Horne and McDaniel have become friends and training buddies. Prior to the Lopez/McDaniel fight I asked Mojo if he was still prepared to fight the winner and he confirmed he would regardless of the outcome. Mojo is dead set on avenging his loss to McDaniel whether it be by fighting him directly or fighting someone who recently beat him. That man is now Lucas Lopez. Sunday, I called Mojo and asked him if he was prepared to fight Lopez on July 17th and his response was “Yeah man, I’m gonna kill that guy.”

So there you have it.

Tickets are selling like mad for July 25

By Jason Appleton

So lowering my ticket prices was probably a great idea.

Tickets are selling like crazy and we are halfway sold out already which is really not common in the Cincinnati market. I’m really excited about how well things are going. The fight card is looking amazing, the first official season of the new TV show is being finished up and closed captioned ready to be shipped out to my distributor, my reality show is in development and I have two really big deals in the works that we’ll announce soon.

My competitor is re-doing his website, of course after seeing my new site he just HAS to redo his now too, haha. But so far it’s looking nice. I hope it works out for him.

Overall, things are going really well and I think July 25th will be sold out, possibly over capacity which will be really nice. Kind of like my May 10th show.

Lacy will have posters for sale at the show for anyone who wants one and we are just gearing up for this Saturday. We actually went out last night with Mojo Horne, Josh Souder and Jen Dalton to Fox & Hound. It was a friggin Tuesday and it was packed. We got hammered but had a blast. Looking forward to Saturday to do it all over again.
