It's simple, this is the one of the best albums ever, I personally think it's on the same level as The Fame by Lady Gaga, Jade is so much better than Keisha, closest album to compare it to is one of Rihannas maybe.

best album ive heard since good girl gone bad by rihanna

I completley disagree with the review. I'm not much of 4.0, but people are wrong when the say the 'Babes have lost their spark due to loss of Keisha - she recorded the same tracks as them and I dont think Jade "ruined" the Sugababes dignity at all. Most of the songs are great. Tracks 1-5 are outstanding. Track 6 is not a personal favourite, probably because it leaked online in October. Track 7 and 8 are my favourites on the album and most people dont like them. I like their upbeat feel. And yes, Track 9-12 are nice ballads, they just dont have any soul or deepness. It leaves me reaching for Taller In More Ways. Apart from the last 3 or so songs, the album is a good buy and it doesnt deserve its No.14.

Now, anyone dat knows me knows that I am NOT a fan of the new sugababes line up. I miss Mutya and Keisha too much man. I am gonna try and be constructive and not just slag them off tho. I fink the prob with the album, is its soo generic and dancy, and has zero soul. Its just sort of shallow and empty. Dancey music can still have soul & diz just has none. It is like a cheap Cascada album. I fink that its a matter of time b4 they split now. I fink amelle could have a creditable solo career. The other two might be on i'm a celeb in a couple of years time....

I think babes are over since mutya left. ugly, push the button & round round are irreplaceable!

This is a really dire album, Sweet & Amazing and She's A Mess being particularly bad. Keisha got a lucky escape, in my opinion. Sugababes are about to crash and burn (which is ironic seeing as that's the best track on the album..)

On this album Heidi "2 piece" Range provides the 3 best quotes in music lyrics history.... 1. In a 2 piece at the beach, they say "Hey sexy" 2. You think im sassy huh? 3. I Can get a man with the wave of my hand... Some may say she is trying to hard, others may think shes amazing... the album is amazing, and its only right that the 4th single Miss Everything featuring Sean Kingston, is released to ensure that they get much needed exposure Ryan Tedders thankyou for the heartbreak is another song which is a credit to the album along with the edgy Shes A Mess. But overall the standout song on the album, is by far the sugababes best song of their whole career "About A Girl". Faultless, flawless... and one of the highlights of their whole career. the album reaching 11 in the chart is a disgrace and like all of their other albums should have been top 10, maybe even number 1. overall i rate this as one of their strongest yet.

To be honest I don't think that the line up change has much to do with this album's limited success. It might have done a bit better with Keisha but considering the performance of the last album, it was unlikely that this album was going to top the charts, regardless of the line up. I do think the album is lacking in originality or personality. The girls should really go for something more organic and soulful, and make better use of Jade's mad vocals!

It's sad to see what effect negative publicity can have on quiet a good album...

Bunch of tramps! I knew this album would flop and i'm glad, these girls arnt the sugababes. Cant wait for kiesha's solo album!!

There is a reason why this album only sold 11K upon its release, and it's because it's awful. Yes, there is the odd catchy song like Wear My Kiss and Get Sexy but it's not enough to save the album. The Sugababes are no more, and quite frankly I'm relieved.

She's A Mess Is The Best Song On The Album
James, Watford on March 25th, 2010
I've said this elsewhere, but most of this album is just generic, faceless, faux-sassy pop full of auto-tune. It's just not right for the Sugababes. The 3 singles so far from this album might sound good at the time, but they have no longevity and will be forgotten very quickly, unlike many of their past hits. The subtlety of past songs like Push The Button have been replaced by the dumb, brash lyrics of songs like Get Sexy and Wear My Kiss, which basically equate to "we're so damn sexy, everyone wants to s**g us!" They are trying way too hard, when they used to be good by not having to. It's a shame because Sugababes used to sound so fresh. Goes to show that no matter how many big names you work with, it doesn't guarantee results. I've always been a Sugababes fan but I'm genuinely not bothered about them now. I predicted before this album was released that it would flop, but no-one on the forums believed me. It was easy to tell with the way things have been going. They are finished now, no amount of singles from Sweet 7 will save them. Sugababes have provided us with many genuinely brilliant and memorable songs over the last decade, but they are well past their best now. Time to bow out girls, it's over.
Frankie Jones on March 24th, 2010
Its better than people are giving it credit for. Even with Keisha the songs would have been the same. Jade actually makes them easier to listen to. It's a shame that so much has gone wrong for them though. Wear My Kiss was never strong enough to sell this album. Thank You For The Heartbreak or No More You should have been the 3rd single from it.
Jess Jones,Leeds on March 24th, 2010
This album just sounds like a desperate catch-up of the Lady Gaga sound everyone is trying to rip off, which is tired.Get Sexy is good and still sounds fresh(Kiesha version best),liked 'About A Girl' at first but now its already cheap and forgettable sounding, and the same goes for 'Wear My Kiss'. Thank god it looks like this will be the last album from 4.0 so they can stop dragging the Sugababe name through the mud.How can the name once associated with Mutya's edge and classics like 'Shape' and 'Stronger' now be associated with tat like the laughable 'Miss Everything' where the Sugababes are relegated doing the odd robotic ad-lib for Sean Kingston??? Nick B, Bournemouth on March 23rd, 2010 says 'And now that they've got rid of the perma-sourpuss Keisha, I would say that the Sugababes are finally releasing the type of music that represents the entire band'.If you can say that, you were never a real Sugababes fan.As Jane, UK on March 23rd, 2010 said;' I used to love this band. I loved how strange and sullen they appeared to be.They were fierce..'The whole appeal of the Sugababes was that they were'nt the typical girlband, constant fake smiling, perfectly styled sexed up fembots, they were real, and that was reflected in their music.Yes Kiesha would have recorded the same album, but at least it would have had her tone, which was a big part of the Sugababes sound.Yes Jade has a lovely voice but its so robotically perfect, theres no soul to it,and it show in the songs on Sweet 7,not helped of course by the lashings of autotune.

I know they're talented but they're trying to market themselves as PCD and it's just not right, only PCD can be this trashy!! There are only 3 good tracks and even they're debatable "Get Sexy" "About A Girl" and "Thank you for the heartbreak", with the latter being the only sugababe sounding track on the album! The rest of the tracks are very bland, very forgettable and really badly written, it's shocking these american producers are allowed to make music if this is the standard especially since the autotone and vocoder buttons have been overworked here! Funnily enough the only track the sugafakes recorded without Keisha being on it first was "Crash and Burn" and that's what I think of this album and the group now!
Ben - UK on March 23rd, 2010
I think that the sugababes are amazing, I think that this album has not been given enough of a chance by the buying public as it is of a very high standard. About a girl should have been pushed back along with the album in november to both be released in march. About a girl is such a great song and should have performed so much better in the charts. I'd like to hope that another single would be realsed from this album that will do really well and turn the album around. Fingers crossed as it's amazing album and know that the sugababes have a great future.
Ian, London on March 23rd, 2010
They will undoubtedly be dropped after this wretched album spends about 3 weeks in the charts. Honestly, why are they even bothering anymore? Lame, Lame, Lame.
Ryan, Leeds on March 23rd, 2010
The first 7 tracks are amazing, the rest are garbage. Quite disappointed that 6 of these leaked last November with Keisha's vocals, was expecting a very strong album with them recording new stuff on top of these tracks but they're all very disappointing.

I want to like this! I really, really do, but I just can't get into at all! Thank You for The Heartbreak, Give It to Me Now and Crash & Burn are about the only (new) tracks I like! They overdone it with autotune, for one (I can't bear to listen to She's A Mess). I don't want to bring Keisha into this, but even though the music is soulless and empty, her voice always adds some depth into it. It just doesn't sound like the Sugababes without that voice and, I admit, that's part the reason I don't like this album. It's just sounds so unfamiliar, so unoriginal and so un-Sugababes. I would have given it a three star, but Sweet and Amazing in itself brings the whole album down. I think it's absolutely terrible!
Nick B, Bournemouth on March 23rd, 2010
Totally agree with one of the other reviewers. I heard the versions of About A Girl and Wear My Kiss pre-Jade, with Keisha's vocals and they barely differ. The fact is, this is the music that Keisha recorded and was set to release - the quality of the music has nothing to do with the current line up. And yes, perhaps the sound has evolved and changed but then Catfights & Spotlights was drab and dull at best. It could only manage one top ten hit before the girls were moulding men as tools and items to own in the video for No Can Do. But then they become misogynistic for She's A Mess?! They must be practically xenophobic. No...She's A Mess is about one woman who is showing herself up by drinking irresponsibly - not the female species. I would have thought music critics would buy more into the actual music they're paid to review, rather than focus on the media hyperbole. But if you really want to suggest that the music is reflected by their current line up, perhaps that's because it's sexy, contemporary and relevant. And now that they've got rid of the perma-sourpuss Keisha, I would say that the Sugababes are finally releasing the type of music that represents the entire band. Not just the 'founders'. On that note, She's A Mess aside, I don't think there are any album tracks that quite hit the heady heights of the singles - Get Sexy, About A Girl and Wear My Kiss. It's never awful, sometimes brilliant but averages out as pretty good.
Jane, UK on March 23rd, 2010
I used to love this band. I loved how strange and sullen they appeared to be. If you didn't like it, then you could just fuck off. They were fierce. Sugababes 1.0 and 2.0's harmonies are the best I've ever heard in a girl group. It was raw on their debut but they still sound utterly amazing. Their vocals are tampered with to death now and for good reason. Jade's voice was, in my view, a cheap copy of Keisha's vocals. Don't get me started with Amelle on Mutya's. Brian Higgins was right about Mutya Buena's voice.
Matt, London on March 23rd, 2010
Nick's review is right on the money, although 3 stars is a bit generous. The fiesty personality of the Sugababes is gone; they're reduced to singing bimbos.
mikee, united kingdom on March 23rd, 2010
this album is one of the 'sugababes' best far superior than c&s; and instantly catchy. nothin to do with line up changes that have happened as all thats done is evolve the sygas from a sweet harmonied group with siobhan 'noe touch' to a dancing diva-esque album with jade. the songs were all picked before jade even joined so its not her fault of its low chart pos. bad promo management but then again thats nothing new for the sugas their seriously need new promoters. all the delay the full leak everything that happened has really over shadowed this brilliant weekend party album
Callum, UK on March 23rd, 2010
This review makes the mistake as many other reviews of this album did. Completely focused on the Sugababes many line-up changes and almost nothing about the actual music. It tells me nothing.

Mess, France on March 23rd, 2010
Don't blame the new lineup ! Keisha said herself that they all wanted not to write this time, she chose the songs like Mel and Heidi...It would have charted the same with her or with Jade. And saying that "none of the group's current constituents has the on-record charisma of a Buchanan, a Buena or a Donaghy" - is funny considering we can't define Donaghy's charisma as a Babe on one album. And Heidi has been there ever since. Jade is no Mutya, Amelle is no Mutya, but they both have their own charisma (especially Jade) - so it's to do with the music and not with the lineup. thanks.
Josh,Cornwall on March 23rd, 2010
Sweet 7 is one of the best albums this year, period! after Gorillaz Plastic Beach album which is a modern masterpiece in itself! the best songs of this album are the singles About A Girl and Wear My Kiss, also love the ballad No More You and Little Miss Perfect along with the mesmerising Crash & Burn! their best ballads....way better than that Ugly tripe! and far more powerful to me. love the dance song Thank You For The Heartbreak as well as She's A Mess. Jade Ewen has amazing vocals and a stunning image. the best incarnation of the group yet. would love more singles to be released from it despite a couple of more dud songs 9that sean kingston song is pretty poor in comparison to the other 11 songs). overall, an impressive self contained album that reaches out as much as it entertaines, i am officially a fan again and i hope the album gets the sales it deserves and gets up the chart! a great album 9/10
James, London on March 23rd, 2010
Great Album and a fairly decent review. Funny thing is for the reviewer - even if keisha was still in the group she hadnt written any of the lyrics either, it was a change in sound they wanted and need IMO, well done girls!
Miles Pearce basingstoke on March 23rd, 2010
It's decent however does not much up to the greatness and originality of three, taller in more ways etc. Get Sexy is pretty damn good and is the only one on ythere that is really good. About A Girl and Wear My Kiss are average and i forgettable easily. I can hardly remember most of the tracks coz they just don't have that spark that songs like ugly, push the button, too lost in you and in the had. They used to be original but now they just follow the crowd. BAAAAA
stereomike on March 23rd, 2010
All that negativity and you give 3/5? The album's alright. I don't think they ever intended it to be anything more than a 'fun' album, i.e. the complete opposite of Catfights, and in that regard it works. I don't like all of the songs (I hate Sweet & Amazing, Little Miss Perfect and She's A Mess), but the first six songs plus No More You are excellent.
