Battlefield Bad Company 2 Day 1 Map Pack

As Battlefield Bad Company 2 comes out next week, I'll tell you about the Day 1 map pack that is available to all players who purchase the game and apply their VIP code which comes with the game at no extra charge. The map pack contains two new maps which are the Rush map, Nelson Bay and the Conquest map, Laguna Alta which you can check out in the video now. The maps will be available from March 2nd which will allow the lucky North America players to get access and practice while us Europeans wait a few days more.

Later in March another map pack will be released containing Arica Harbor for Conquest and Laguna Presa for Rush

VIP codes are included in the box for all new purchases. Players that buy used versions and don't have a code can purchase one via the in-game store for $15. PC players will get the content as a game update.

We all (PS3, 360, PC) get content FREE!

AS LONG as you have a VIP code, this will be available in each new game! The VIP code will entitle you to use the EA Store, this will only work for the person that has brought the game originally! So people that go out and buy this game as a pre-owned game and want to purchase stuff form the EA Store on BFBC2 will have to buy a new VIP code from EA first, this will cost $15.

Map packs? Why just not release everything directly?

Since there will almost always be at least 1 of the 24 players not having the map pack (on consoles), how are these maps ever going to come up in the map rotation?

    1. DLC store will be run through the BC2 Menu

    2. It can be accessed through 2 methods

. Purchasing BC2 new and entering the Code found within the packaging on the EA webpage, then obtaining the VIP code through the site.

. Purchasing BC2 as a used product and purchasing the DLC store via 15$ fee (unknown method of payment)

    3. First day DLC will be free of charge

    4. DLC will accumulate over-time as we know of. (no special time constraints. ie: 24 hrs to claim an item)

    5. First Day DLC will consist of, but is not limited to, "several new Multiplayer Maps"

    6. Content believed to be published in the DLC store

    .Weapons

.Specializations....................... (different vehicle or player enhancements found in the SPEC1,2,3 slots)

    .Maps

    .Attatchments .......................(sights, underside launchers)

    .Weapon Camos

.Player Skins...................... (new uniforms, accessories like diff ghillies or hats, diff skin tone)

.New Player Classes ..........(ie: addition to the original 4)

.Gadgets......................... (added items to the Gadget selection)

anyone who says "consoles have to pay" are not reading the article, you will have to pay the $15 price tag when you purchase a 'used' copy because someone already used the VIP code when they first purchased the game... when you purchase the limited edition on xbox360 or PS3, you get a VIP code to unlock this DLC... PC players don't need the VIP code because DICE is pushing the DLC through it's automatic updating system..
