A native of Ukraine, Tatiana Jouravel is a graduate of the Kiev Ballet Academy. She danced with Hartford Ballet and Boston Ballet prior to joining Milwaukee Ballet as leading artist in 2003 . She has danced leading roles in ballets such as The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Dracula , A Midsummer Night's Dream, La Bayadere, Carmen, Divertissement of Raymonda and Cinderella. Ms. Jouravel has also danced leading roles in works by George Balanchine, Michael Pink, Paul Taylor, Lila York, Kenneth MacMillan, Antony Tudor, Mark Godden, Trey McIntyre, Christopher Wheeldon, Adam Hougland, Petr Zahradnicek. She was awarded the Grand Prix Prize at the Competition of the Soviet Union Ballet Schools in Minsk, Belarussia, and also won a silver medal at the New York International Ballet Competition. Ms. Jouravel is a proud mother of two children, Alexander and Marianna.
