Rotten Tomatoes Well, after a mighty marketing campaign, it looks like Kick-Ass has already lost its steam with audiences, while Dragon holds strong. What did YOU see this weekend?

ow.ly
In a lackluster weekend that marked the first time this year the top ten movies have failed to earn at least $90 million, Dreamworks's How to Train Your Dragon soared back into first place. New films The Back-up Plan and The Losers performed relatively poorly, and Kick-Ass dropped all the way down ...

Tim continues his journey with Freddy Krueger with the first sequel, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. Read how he was understandably underwhelmed by part 2 after a surprisingly decent first installment!

The original was the best with Dream warriors being second. Although the I do believe that the remake is going to take over that second spot.

I have to give a shout out to Freddy's Death scene in NOE4. It made the rest of the movie almost worth watching.

The trouble: no logic, no staying within the bounds of suspension of belief, and no laws of gravity. Might as well be playing a video game (and one where you don't even have the controls in hand). No suspense. No excitement. That is today's modern CGI films. Much sound and fury, signifying -- and resembling-- nothing and certainly not anything in real life.

@Don -- since when did ANY super hero movie signify or resemble anything in real life? That is the point of the movies...to sit back, relax, and have an entertaining night at the movies. I haven't seen "Iron Man" yet -- thanks to someone stealing the only copy the library had or thanks to the fact that our only video rental store no longer has a ... See Morecopy so I have to wait to get it from Netflix -- so I can't honestly state if the first movie was good or not. But I am going to see "Iron Man 2" on its opening day, because for the FIRST time in our theater's history we are actually getting a movie on opening day. I like the look of the trailers that I have seen. The only problem I have with the movies is that Gwenyth Paltrow is in them...seriously, do not like this woman and she cannot act her way out of a paper bag and I do NOT care that she won an Oscar either. She is a horrific actress. Of course, that is just my opinion. Anyway, I am hoping to see the original "Iron Man" before I go to "Iron Man 2" but if I don't, no big deal. Liking one doesn't guarantee I am going to like the other one.

Rotten Tomatoes Alright, to get the taste of Human Centipede out of our mouths (poorly chosen metaphor?), here's a charming little action-comedy: The Other Guys. Will Ferrell as a pencil-pusher and Mark Wahlberg as the loose cannon? Think it could work? What other buddy cop flicks do you love?

ow.ly
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg play two desk-ridden NY detectives, with Sam Jackson, The Rock, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, and Michael Keaton in supporting roles. Will hilarity ensue? Judge for yourself in this trailer!

If you're a fan of Guillermo del Toro, then you're probably already familiar with Splice, a sci-fi thriller dealing with genetic manipulation that he helped to produce. If you haven't heard of the movie, allow us to introduce you to it via this trailer. But be warned; this is creepy stuff!
