Re: CAD Character Design Stolen? (Updated)

@Steph Louise K

No, because realistically, it'd be damn hard to show that he profited off of it. Also, the design and art style might prove to be different enough. Even if he admitted it, you can not lay claim to a specific style, as sheppy said. Artists steal from other artists intentionally or not all the damn time. Even with proof of date of creation, which in itself would be hard to estabish as Buckly himself has said that he has had the story planned out for years (so that might include this annoying character). Regardless, I know people in real life who dress that way and they can't claim he stole their "look". There is no merit here.

Personally, I think it is irrelevant, mostly because she is a terribly annoying character and I dislike CAD anyway. I read it more out of habit then any actual enjoyment, and I have been trying to stop. Seriously, CAD gets worse by the page. ... view replies

The Blur demo is fun, but oops, it's being published by Activision, so I guess I can have just as much fun with Split/Second and Criterion's Need For Speed game.

Re: Infinity Ward is 'dead,' but may walk again

@ Ace Flibble

He remains as an Unnamed insider because if he was named and spoke out honestly and unanonymously he would probably void his employment contract and he would be fired and possibly sued. It may very well be a rumor, but the unnamed source probably still works for either IW or activision, and if his name appears on the web related to this shit, other companies might not want to hire him because they know he can not be entirely trusted with a confidentiality agreement, which damn near every development studio has.

But that is cool, keep making baseless assumptions and generally being ignorant.

Maybe not so much, huh guys? Seems like the major corporate play failed and failed hard. I hope those guys from IW get the cash they deserved, and maybe, just maybe Activision will learn to treat it's studios with respect, like EA did when they started to let their studios have almost complete independence. Re: Nintendo 'not good' at making games like BioShock

@ Operative20
Capcom and EA would like a word with you. Despite crap like the Dead Rising port and Boogie, they still gave the Wii top quality games like Zack and Wiki and Boom Blocks and even Dead Space Extraction. Then there are games such as Madworld and Muramasa which are also lots of fun.

It can be done, most studios just realize its not worth the effort. And the sales figures prove that it's not.

Sony and Microsoft realized that you need to set a tone with your quality control, and then produce examples for other companies to live up to. Nintendo has been so focused on their own IP's for so long, it almost seems like they've forgotten how to set that tone. Their games are great, but the lack of new IP's, and endless GameCube ports turned into Wii titles shows something of a lack of interest in the actual 3rd party games, and somewhat of a lack of commitment to their player base. It's why many consider the Wii a toy, and not a serious system, because, especially when compared to the 360 and PS3, it IS a toy. The few great games dont count, and you cant rely on others to help your image.

Also, dont give me any of that crap about how the Wii isnt supposed to compete with the other current gens. Thats not the point, because if Nintendo tried, they really could have had something better then what we have now, which is a good game every 6 months or so, with the gaps filled in by shovelware, Anubis II and Ninjabread Man. ... view replies

Re: Whining Sonic fans take Sonic 4 complaints to new lows

Furthermore, people just need to chill out. Even if they're not, this still looks awesome, and I will still be buying it.

People just love to complain. The funny thing is that while these people say this shit now after seeing a grand total of like 3 minutes of gameplay, they will still buy the game. Re: God of War III contest series -- Week 1

I've had a lot of good concert experiences, but my best concert experience was actually while seeing the lostprophets. It was a last minute concert, announced about a week before the show, so there was only about 50 or so fans there. All the fans and myself bantered back and forth with the band the whole show, and they played some songs they hadn't played in a long while, but the best was when the lead singer jumps off the stage, throws his arm around me and the guy next to me, hands me the mic and tells us that we're going to sing one of their songs ("Burn Burn") with them. And I did. Was entirely epic, and the best (of many grate) concert experiences I've ever had. ... view replies

The track design, the handling of each vehicle, the great multiplayer, the track hazards (like the entire Sugar Plantation Track) and the fun Monster Truck destruction were all great.

That said it is still a pain in the ass, but it was pretty cool signing onto Mass Effect 2 at midnight and already having the Blood Dragon Armor already there for DL without a code cause it was saved on their servers. Seems totally roundabout though.

Re: Review: MAG

To echo what @Elsa said, I played in each of the Beta phases, this review does cover the the essential basics of the game, which is generally what reviews do. I play a lot of MW2 mp on the 360, and this game was able to stand up to it by being it's own (though it does take a bit too many bullets to kill someone). Lag in the 256 player matches was surprisingly rare, and not really more of a problem then it is in every other shooter. The basic mechanics and game types were fun.
