Invites: The Top 50 Most Requested Private Trackers

December 17, 08 by sharky   137,483  views

Experienced BitTorrent users know a thing or two about private trackers - some sites are just better than others. This could translate to fastest pre-times of new releases; trackers with the most diversity and number of torrents; community-focused trackers; and even the rarity of an account weighs heavily on what is deemed "in demand". We scoured high and low on torrent forums everywhere to find out what trackers are in hot demand, and tallied up the results - #1 shouldn’t be much of a surprise.

To compile this data we visited torrent forums and counted (really!) each and every tracker request that was posted, including ones that were ‘filled’. Our stats went back as far as July, 2008. Sites that were used included:

ThePirateSociety P2PTalk.org TrackeReactor TorrentInvite

#1 - FtN

Hands down, FtN is the most requested invitation in BitTorrent today, and for good reason. FtN successfully combines the best of everything all rolled up into one tracker: no ratio system; great pre-times and content; plus it’s an awesome community with a thriving forum. Amazingly, it’s the only tracker known to have more individual forum threads than they do torrents. Despite all the hype, FtN is beginning to live up to it - the (active) torrent count sits at more than 6,500 - compared with just over 2,000 in July. With a tiny 6,000 member limit, get in the long line if you’re looking for an invite - there’s a half a million torrenters ahead of you. It’s all about who you know…

#2 - ScT

Simply put, ScT is the best tracker in terms of speed, content, pre-times and packs. As always, ScT continues to be one of the hottest requests going. With a rather large limit of 20,000; combine this with invites that don’t come for free, and you’ll see why ScT requests are ubiquitous. Even my cat wants to get into this tracker.

#3 - TorrentLeech

Without a doubt, TL is one of the finest 0day (general) trackers on the planet. For any serious torrenter, TL is a must-have acquisition that everyone should add to their private tracker repertoire. While there’s no freeleech, seeding is a breeze - as there’s over 160K users and no shortage of leechers for just about everything. Speeds are insane; pre-times are great, and there’s literally hundreds of new torrents added daily.

#4 - BitMe.org

We were actually somewhat surprised that BitMe.org took the #4 spot, but stats don’t lie. Just take a look around; there’s always a constant steady stream of requests for this popular eLearning tracker. The user limit has been capped at 15,000 since the beginning of time; and aspiring torrenters who want to get in tend to stay there.

#5 - Waffles.fm

By far, Waffles invitations get requested more often than What.cd invites, for two reasons: 1.) Many torrent forums have now banned invite giveaways to What.cd, and 2.) Waffles invites aren’t handed out (for members to actually use) nearly as frequently as they are at What.cd. This doesn’t necessarily make Waffles a superior tracker, but it does make it rarer - which, in this particular situation makes it a more sought-after invite.

#6 - HDBits.org

It shouldn’t be any surprise that HDBits.org would land in at the #6 spot. For true HD enthusiasts, HDBits is the must-have tracker. The quality of their in-house encodes is truly amazing; there’s a ton of freeleech; seeding is easy; speeds are great; and the community is top-notch. When it comes to high def, HDBits is second to none. While signups are never publicly open, invites are handed out to qualifying members somewhat regularly, although most members are quite selective upon who they give them out to.

#7 - What.cd

You’d think by now that everyone who really wanted an account at What.cd would have already found an invitation, especially since they’ve recently upped their user limit to 100,000. It only goes to show how many new torrenters are turning to the world of private trackers, as invite requests to What.cd are still strong as ever (even if frowned upon by What.cd staff). Besides, the What.cd IRC quiz isn’t exactly simple for most of us, which makes seeking out an invite an easier (and hassle-free) alternative.

#8 - TranceTraffic

Hot on the heels of What.cd are requests for the very popular (but elusive) trance music tracker TranceTraffic. Noobs need not bother to ask for an invite here; even highly-established torrent sceners have a difficult time finding a seat amongst the 8,000 spots. Invites are scarce, which is why TT is continuously being requested by nubs and pros alike.

#9 - Black-Cats Games

What is probably the most extensive gaming library on the Internet, Black-Cats Games is not all that difficult to find an invite to (or should be say referral); although invitees need to be diligent - not to mention on-line their messaging software at the time, since invites tend to expire after one hour. BCG incorporates a unique seed-points system; very useful for low-seeded torrents and members who have a slow upload connection. BCG forums are just sick with activity - roll it all together and you’ve got the best games tracker going.

#10 - iTS

If you don’t know what tracker iTS is, then you probably don’t need an invitation anyways. Oh, and a Google search for "iTS" likely won’t do you much good, either. Regardless, it’s a highly sought-after 0day tracker with a max limit of 5,000 and just 1,900 users, which makes it to the #10 spot. Constantly requested, since it’s constantly impossible to find an invitation to in the first place.

#11 - iPlay.ro

iPlay is an amazing English/Romanian 0day tracker with more than 9,000 torrents. Heralded as perhaps the best Romanian tracker, it’s been compared to ScT in terms of packs, pre-times and unique content. Something else that’s similar to ScT is their invite system, which are attached to a monetary value (20€ for 1, 35€ for 2 and 50€ for 4) - one of the reasons for their high popularity.

#12 - MusicVids

Aside from having a tiny (but dedicated) user base of just over 2,100 users, invites are given to VIPs (and up) only, and aren’t handed out regularly to members (except on special occasions), thus making invites somewhat rare. To become VIP, users need to be appointed by staff or donate a minimum of $10 USD, which would thus include one invite. Add in the fact that Music-Vids is hands-down the best tracker for, well… music videos, and you’ve got yourself one of the hottest requested invitations in all of private BitTorrent.

#13 - PtN

While much of the heat has died down in regards to finding an invitation to PtN - mainly due to their proactive approach leaning towards recruitment - PtN is still highly requested (which is usually the wrong approach). It’s not a hard tracker to get into, and they’ll gladly take qualifying, established new members - just fill out the questionaire.

#14 - RevolutionTT

Right up there with TorrentLeech is RevoTT, another great 0day tracker that shouldn’t be overlooked. Invites aren’t too difficult to find; however, they’re not automatically given out to members - they must be requested from staff in the forums. Looking at invite requests threads, there’s always a healthy number of active requests, and giveaways are commonplace.

#15 - BitMeTV

Invites to the best TV tracker on the planet are perpetually being sought out, but most BitMeTV inviters are somewhat stingy when selecting potential invitees - due to the fast burnout time on new torrents (and stiff competition for seeding); and the fact that inviters are responsible for who they invite (which staff take seriously). A quick glance at the forums, and you’ll notice a multitude of "banned" symbols next to many of the old posts, which provides a clue that there’s a high member turnaround. New meat is what keeps BitMeTV afloat.

#16 - SCC

For such a good 0day tracker, we were surprised to see SCC so low on the list. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that they have recruitment everywhere, which eliminates a lot of the invite requests & giveaways. Experienced torrenters know where to find SCC community reps for recruitment - usually in other tracker’s (Power User) forums.

#17 - Elektronik

We couldn’t find any stats for the number of users; however, Elektronik has always been a hot request amongst savvy members of the private tracker circuit. Arguably it’s the number 2 trance tracker, second only to TranceTraffic.

#18 - Pedro’s BTMusic

Pedro’s has been around for what seems like forever, and has developed quite a following. You won’t find any lossy MP3 files on this music tracker, as everything is in FLAC. True audiophiles may use What & Waffles as a stepping stone before jumping onto Pedro’s, which is one of the reasons why it continues to generate a lot of buzz in the invite circuit.

#19 - GFT Tracker

With impressive pre-times (perhaps ranked as high as #3 in tracer channels) that include unique adult content and a massive amount of TV scene releases, GFT has quickly established itself as one of the best 0day trackers around. Combine this with a no-ratio tracker, karma-bonus, vast number of torrents; and you’ve got yourself an oft-requested invite.

#20 - ScL

ScL has been slipping in the ranks as of late - at one time it was the tracker du jour; a real sought-after account. We can’t (or won’t) pinpoint exactly why ScL’s popularity has waned, but it has. By every right it’s still a very respectable 0day tracker with good pre-times; freeleech on all packs & music (and anything older than 2 months). Invites are still regularly requested, but nowhere near to the same numbers as it once was.

#21 - PolishTracker

It’s been said that invites are only handed out to VIPs at PT these days, and even then it’s not very often. High-level tracker seekers continually make a go at finding an invite to PT, and it’s not a tracker one finds in giveaway threads frequently.

#22 - TTi

TTi is a well-respected Swedish/English general (& 0day) tracker with a diehard fanbase. Comparable to RevoTT, TTi has over 20K torrents, seeding is easy, pre-times are so-so, and DL speeds are great. It may not have the diversity of English & scene torrents like TL or RevoTT has, but that doesn’t dissuade aspiring members from seeking an invite, especially now that they’ve "filled up" to 25,000 users.

#23 - FTWR

There’s no clearer example of a tracker on this list that gets requested solely due to it’s rarity than FTWR. All that’s needed to get a collector’s blood pumping is to mention "secret URL" or "secret login screen" and that starts off the invite request frenzy. Pfft.

#24 - FSC

Now here’s a community-based tracker that actually lives up to all the hype. FSC’s community model has become the standard for many-a-tracker. FSC’s mission is to provide its great members a place to share files while emphasizing community but without sacrificing security. There’s a very unique ’share index’ for seeding; ‘Fun Space’ (in-site social networking) and other site goodies that can’t be found anywhere else. It’s believed the invitation system is closed - to get in you’ll need to come into contact with a staff member - but it doesn’t heed torrenters from requesting.

#25 - Demonoid

Sure, you laugh. But if we were to include stats from FST then Demonoid would probably be near the #1 spot, not #25. There truly are people out there that believe the Demon is the best private tracker going - scouts honor! While that may be a bit of a stretch, it’s a good training-bra tracker, until users realize that FunFile is the cat’s ass! Humor aside, Demonoid does offer some stuff that can’t be found anywhere else, which is another reason why it continues to be a popular staple among invite seekers.

#26 - BitHUmen

Dubbed the best Hungarian tracker on the scene, BitHUmen serves up a respectable 15K torrents for both 0day & rare stuff unseen anywhere else. Invites are difficult to find, to say the least - their unique invites system allows members to trade points (5) for one invite, and points are not easy to come by (even the top 1,000 uploaders only receive one point per week).

#27 - Exigo

Ah, yes… Exigo. Every music connoisseurs’ dream tracker. Never once have we seen this request actually been fulfilled (officially) in a request thread. In other words: don’t ask them, they’ll ask you - perhaps through Pedro’s if you’re a heavy uploader.

#28 - Bit-HDTV

While it’s relatively common to see Bit-HDTV open publicly for new signups once the account limit dips below 15,000 users, it’s still a somewhat common invite request.

#29 - C-Zone

Another great general/0day Romanian tracker is C-Zone. Invites are not easy to find, and are usually (and rarely) awarded to "Elites" (150 GB uploaded, 1.5 ratio).

#30 - TheDVDClub

Invites to TheDVDClub should be easier to find than they currently are, since there’s an automatic invite system for many user classes. The problem is, there’s not too many members (~6,500); thus not many invites. Persistent torrenters should be able to find a way in, though.

#31 - AOM

AOM is the best, if not oldest, magic tracker. Invites are not easy to find: only VIPs are able to invite new members, and regular members will have to apply through staff to invite someone new. While many torrenters still request AOM at torrent forums, it’s probably better to go through their site and apply yourself through staff.

#32 - MMA-Tracker

This is hands down the best tracker for Mixed Martial Arts torrents. With almost 7,000 torrents and a user limit of 5,000? (although the max limit and actual user limit vary), finding an invite is not the easiest task. The community (& forums) is second to none, and MMA-Tracker has some very good pre-times for the latest releases.

#33 - SceneHD

SceneHD is a Swedish HD tracker that offers scene releases only (in both English and Swedish). With roughly 10,000 users and more than 3,000 torrents, there’s been more invite requests as of late since they closed public signups.

#34 - DesiTorrents

Ever since DesiTorrents officially went P2L (i.e. signups are open, but cost $10 USD to get in), invite requests have become more common. It’s unknown if there’s still an active invite system since the new scheme has been introduced. Regardless, DT is heralded at the best Bollywood/Desi tracker on the planet.

#35 - SweDVDR

Highly regarded as one of the better DVDR trackers (if not rarest), users will need a Nordic IP address to signup (a Nordic VPN service covers this nicely!). Finding an invite is near impossible: only "Divine Users" are able to trade 50 bonus points for 1 invite, thus they’re indeed uncommon.

#36 - DanishBits

DanishBits is a 0day tracker with over 4,000 torrents in English, Danish and even some in Polish. Signups are closed, and upon promotion Power Users receive 4 invites, but due to their low member count, they’re somewhat difficult to come across.

#37 - x264.me

x264 is another great tracker for both movies and TV torrents (in DVD, HD, x264 and XviD formats). x264.me is never open publicly to new signups, and invite requests are relatively common. There’s a user limit of 5,000 - although finding an invite is fairly easy - PU’s get one per week, so just check the giveaway threads.

#38 - Karagarga

Not everyone wants to get into Karagarga but those who do, really want in. Requests for KG are sporatic, and (from what we know) most KG users are more than eager to provide an invitation. Only Power Users (and up) can receive invites (which is pretty strict: 50 GB up, 1.05 ratio, and 90+ days on the tracker).

#39 - TvTorrents.com

TV afficionados know that TvTorrents offers a very impressive selection of TV Season and complete series packs, and ever since TvT (permanently) closed public signups, more and more invite requests are beginning to appear. While TvT is probably the oddest torrent tracker in terms of design and browsing, let this not take away from the vast content.

#40 - nCore.cc

nCore is the second-largest Hungarian tracker, and is often highly-overlooked. Alexa’s rank by country for Hungary puts nCore at an impressive #78 overall.

#41 - TheVault / ThePlace

While both of these niche trackers offer torrents unfound on any other site, there’s always someone looking for eclectic content. At one time both sites were very elusive, but lately invites are usually plentiful.

#42 - ChristianTorrents

Believe it or not, ChristianTorrents gets quite a few invite requests. There’s over 10,000 torrents in all categories of… er… Christianity? Without question, CT is the best tracker of its kind, maybe even the only tracker of its kind. Only PUs are privy to invites, which is simple enough (10 GB upload, 4 weeks on the tracker, 1.05+ ratio). Amen for that!

#43 - iFi

With a current user limit of just 600, we’d think there would be many more invite requests from the torrent "collectors" for iFi. There’s still quite a few, though - however, here’s one piece of advice if you do get in: Be sure to tell staff that you have a seedbox. I didn’t, and I got banned for cheating. A note to iFi staff - not everyone seeds from a home PC, and believe it or not, some do it remotely via a high speed server, also known in the torrent world as a seedbox. Google it.

#44 - TS-Tracker

TS-Tracker is a popular German tracker, and currently indexes almost 9,300 torrents. While not a tracker that’s in hot demand (in the English world), there’s still plenty of requests - and rightly so.

#45 - SoftMP3

SoftMP3 is one of the most overlooked music trackers around. What makes it so special is that only scene releases are allowed - no homemade rips or P2P releases, and there’s a very impressive selection of FLAC torrents & archives.

#46 - BitGamer

Currently, BitGamer is open invites, but this is not always the case. Requests are still quite common for this games tracker, even if it’s not quite as popular at BCG.

#47 - TheHorrorCharnel

THC is one of those oddball trackers that caters towards, you guessed it, horror releases. Invites are plentiful in any giveaway thread, as heaps are added to "member +" and "member ++" classes.

#48 - Ethor.net

Ethor.net (or Thor’s Land) is a French (Quebec) tracker with 6,000 users and 10K torrents. It should be noted that this is a 0day tracker, but French movies are one of their specialties.

#49 - Cinematik

Cinematik is another great tracker that specializes in DVDR releases. Currently there’s more than 5,300 torrents, and most of the stuff is considered obscure and hard-to-find.

#50 - SaveTheCoratee

SaveTheCoratee (STC) is a newer Mac-only tracker that currently indexes 3,000 torrents. While there’s never open invites, there is recruitment through their IRC channel, and invites shouldn’t be too difficult to find.

Lol at iFi. Anyway, I deleted my account there because I wasn’t going to use it :P. I want to add that bmtv also ban people unfairly. I used to think that they were top-notch at catching cheaters but they are not. They actually didn’t have a hard proof against me, they just had the uploader’s word who said that I was cheating, they said that it was my word against the uploader’s word. I couldn’t believe what they did to me, I can say I was an excellent member. I thought about it and I came to the conclusion that this uploader was jelaous of my upload amount in his torrents. But it was actually bmtv narrow-minded staff who really disappointed me.

Where is Puresound/Tranceroute on that list. This is the best trance tracker

  49. 049   •   Pirate Says:

    Tis an interesting topic.

    My 2 cents.

ScT is great, but not rare, at 20 euro an invite they’re as rare as a 20 euro note right… Oh, you mean they’re rare for people who don’t want to pay? Well then in that case 42″ plasma TVs are as rare as hens teeth too… think about it.

As for SCC, SCT and GFT, having been a member on two of em well over a year, and one just under a half a year (cause it’s not a year old yet) I can say for content they are all fairly similar.

When rating/ranking something you have to have a criteria, and here that is ‘most requested’, fine. However I’d say in general for making a comparison on ‘quality of site’ MOST people don’t care about 1 minutes difference in pre times (wtf would you, honeslty?) and a lot of people don’t really care about forums and ‘community’. The forum boards on most of these trackers, like ALL forum boards, have about 80% of the posts from about 5% of the site userbase, if not more extreme. Get in, get your content, give (seed) back to the community, and you’re done. Hanging out for something 15 seconds earlier or trawling the forums… Open the front door a little more often.

sct is the fast pretime - go to the IRC channel that proves it by racing torrents off topsites, rare that sct doesnt win

scc and ftn arent the best just cuz u want them to be or cuz other ppl say so - the #s speak for themselves. I love how members of those 2 sites act like its all hardcore and that they are cool cuz of it. im a member and big deal

besides - the site that is best wasnt even mentioned because they absolutely FORBID anyone even SPEAKING about it in public or you will be instantly banned, and getting in there is so hard that no one breaks the rules

ill give you a hint, it containts 3 letters and one character in the main name, ex] ****.whatever (whatever is not the real thing, but the **** is 3 letters and 1 char.)

PS - 90% of you whiners are little beeches - WAHHH my site is better!!! hahahaha L O S E R - get a gf

  55. 055   •   PTN - People Trading Network Says:

lulz PTN its owned by traders and the reason it was made hard to get into to begin with was due to the site trader owners using its elusiveness ‘at the time’, to trade for invites to other sites.

Lets be honest, PTN is shit, it has shit content (which only seems to be renamed scene releases anyway, similar to that of say Demonoid but with far less seeders and leechers and millions less number of files), there’s probably going to be a heap of ragers to comment back on how great PTN is but they are all probably traders or people trying to big note themselves for having this access to this site.

Did you notice I used the word traders a lot?

FTWR isn’t worth the effort to get in. Slim on content and god complexes abound. You’d do better at Demonoid.

  66. 066   •   Xodianbarr Says:

There’s only one site really worth mentioning in that list. They all have good qualities but only one stands out far and above the the rest and thats SCC. They’ve been consistenly top of the pack for pre times and anyone who knows anything in this game knows that. Not that othes are to be sniffed at, but SCC is the only Elite. Its where sites go to leech. Thats how good it is.

Well that I see from this is that there is no specialized and decent Audiobook-only tracker. These days audiobooks are becoming a very large market. Demonoid is probably the best with that content so far but appears to be… erhm… well plagued by bad luck.

    :/
im very glad you missed a shitload of wicked fast trackers, its shit like this that ruins the idea of private sites….
ftn is hard to get into, cause they dont want your fuckin ass in there, sct and scc the same..
invite trading is a plague that all staff from every tracker just hate, and with good reason…
if you want to get into a good tracker, start from scratch.. ffs
its not hard, go meet ppl, help where you can… have fun, and the invites will find you.
i personally dont invite anyone i dont know.
if i invite your ass, and you blemish my good ratio name… i’d kick your ass!
easiest way to start off. hop into a new private tracker, meet ppl there… and you will eventually get onto the rest of em.
specially if you know how to upload or help out as staff…

soo. yea, I HATE YOU ALL. and umm GET A LIFE/TRACKER/JOB/BRAIN/DIGNITY/…… yea whatever, like your dumbass’s will listen to me anyway… you all just want the easiest route into every fuckin tracker… then once your dumbass gets into one… you run around bragging about your invites and invite tons of ppl who try and hack the site, or attempt at cheating ratio, or are just plain ignorant to the ppl running/uploading to the site..

impo, if you get in that easy, your bound to take advantage of it…..
or just not respect the access your given…
    whatever, im out

  84. 084   •   joeyjammer Says:

#25 - Demonoid is NOT a PRIVATE tracker

The only thing that is PRIVATE is the website and the ability to view and download the torrent files from Demonois.. If you are not a member you can get many of the torrent files from other torrent sites like theprivatebay, bitjunkie, email or any other way. The demonoid tracker is a public tracker

This is one of the most repeated errors posted on most torrent related websites.
