A jury sentenced Spring resident Kevin Williams to 30 years in prison for his part in a 2009 aggravated robbery of the Texas Sunmart at I-45 North and Pruitt Road.

Eighth grade student Kristof Willimann was one of 100 Texas students who participated in the Geography Bee sponsored by the National Geographic. Brandon Ohl earned a Silver Key in the regional Scholastic Writing Contest. This is the oldest writing competition in the United States for secondary school students.
