:: Test Pattern

P1010001

Hello!

The Blog Tour continues tomorrow! We've had a bit of a break in transmission today! No matter, we can catch up over there another time!

In the mean time, you can look at my 'Button Cute' granny squares! I have been making them like a speed demon, because they are quick and fun to crochet! They are cute as a button, I think! You likey?

See you over here, tomorrow! It might be late in the day as my computer ATE all the photos of the tutorial I did! Argh!

Lovey Dovey Purse

Oh hello!

The blog tour continues today! I'm over at the lovely blog of Allison Langton. It's called BigPrint Little. Why don't you head over there? I made something nice for Valentine's Day. And Ms Allison is giving it away on her blog! Why don't you go see? Thanks so much to all the lovely bloggers who have been hosting my visits this week! It's been very nice to be posting in new places.

Wishing you a wonderful day and hoping SOMEONE didn't accidentally put WAY too much SUGAR in YOUR tea this morning. So that you have to waste a perfectly good cup of tea by tipping it out and making another. Hoping that.

Also hoping you are making something nice for dinner. I am making baked beans (home made not from le tin) and some garlic toast. That's what I'm making.

I am re-testing two more projects today and double checking the instructions. And I'm going to watch some Lark Rise To Candleford out of the corner of my eye. And plan tomorrow's Blog Post (although I think she might be away : so I might be over HERE posting as normal tomorrow! We shall see!)

Awright. Chat soon.

:: Things To Tell You

Image 10 : Tutorial

It's Day Two of my Blog Tour today, and I'm posting over at A Little Bird Told Me and also over here at Tale Peddler's. A Little Bird Told Me is hosting my 'Sew A Vintage Pot Holder Tutorial' and Josephine is featuring my 'Inspiration Junket' post. It's been totally busy around here, on the writing front, but luckily I'm totally in that writing mode and am taking it all in my stride.

Yesterday I also wrote a post about BLOG FAME over at Make and Meaning, if that sounds like something you'd like to click over to.

I'm still feeling oogey. Not sure what that's all about, but I'm totally trying to pace myself and be sensible and not get too tired. Ari and I are watching one episode each night of this. It's great. We are really enjoying all the footage of Gerry drawing and all the beautiful shots of insects and animals. I wish I was in Corfu this very minute, I can tell you that for sure!

At the moment I have some bacon in the oven, for the kid's lunch sandwiches. We're having roasted chops with tomatoes and potatoes and garlic for dinner. I think I'll make some bread today too. Bread is so important for mopping up juices, I feel. And I don't eat the chops, by the way, I just eat the vegies. I'm not hugely meaty, unless it's a lovely piece of lamb at Est. That I can do. That is where my Sister had her wedding luncheon. It was lovely. The best service I have ever had, anywhere (including the old Stephanie's)!

I'm embroidering today and re-testing some projects. And then going over my writing for the book again. I've been sneaking in some granny squares. They are bumpy ones using popcorn stitch and lots of DC and Treble too. I've been making the Rosehip flowery ones as well - the pattern for those is over here. I'm going to write a post for my Blog Tour too. Tomorrow I will be over here at BigPrint Little.

I have been sneaking looks at this blog (which I am so sure you all know and love) and drinking more Chai thanks to Amy Karol's tip and also looking at this lovely blog too (it's written by Hello Tiger!) I love the felt ball wreath and this wall display and these doyley covered speakers! Look at these glitter globes at Dos Family! Cute! And this is so very, very great. Tipped off by this blog!

So, what have you been doing? Do you have any ace things to share with us?

:: Blog Tour Day One :: Make A Bug Keeper!

Hello!

This week I'm popping in on other people's blogs for a cup of tea and some chatter!

Today I'm over here at Little Elephants making 'Craft meets Durrell' Bug Keepers! I got out my Charley Harper colouring book and spent an hour or so stitching his cute bugs while I watched Lark Rise to Candleford.

My golly, I'm loving Lark Rise. So good! Have you watched it? Could be great for a Winter's partaking, I reckon. So I stitched and I watched and I wrote some stuff. Then I went to bed. In the middle of the afternoon. Which is not like me. I have a virus of some sort which is NOT what you want when you are a week and a bit away from your manuscript deadline! I'm entering a kind of twilight zone now, where I will work at all sorts of odd hours and sip chai in the very dead of night. I quite like it, actually. It's very quiet in the dead of night, don't you find?!

Thanks to Veronique for hosting me today. Check out the other dates and blogs I'll be posting on here. Tomorrow I'm over at A Little Bird Told Me. And I'll be here too one day this week! And posting here tonight. Phew!

On an equally important note, I think Ari is getting his SRC badge at school today. So I hope I can summon the non-viral energy to go to assembly and make sure they don't stick him with his pin! Congratulations Mr Ari on being voted SRC Rep for Grade 4. Represent, lil fella! We are proud of you!

xx Pip

ps : I'll archive the tutorial for this over here next week.

:: Puffin Stuff

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of The Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Horse and His Boy
The Magician's Nephew*
The Last Battle
* I couldn't find an image of this vintage Puffin

Did you have these books when you were little? They held pride of place at our house. I think my brother and I used to squabble over them. We read them so many times, the spines were creased and cracked and their pages dog eared and splotched with tea and vegemite. Delicious!

Look at the lovely colours in these, and their gorgeous painted covers. Just beautiful.

My favourite Narnia book was always The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It made me wish I liked turkish delight (I don't), and that I could have a long, serious chat with Mr Tumnus about how to be a good friend. (I just knew I could make him see the light, given half a chance.) I loved the way the book was dotted with cosy meals and amazing creatures. I despised the White Witch. I thought Edmund was a chump. And I dearly wanted to find my own fur-coat filled wardrobe where I could pop out the back for a bit of a snack and a toboggan before heading home for peas and gravy. Oh yes. If only.

I really love vintage Puffin books. I especially wanted to be in the Puffin Club. Do you remember the Puffin Club page in the back of these books?! Anyhoo, I'm going to feature some more in the next couple of days, but I thought it would be great to start with these.

Are you into Puffins too?

xx Pip
