Laura Robson and Jamie Murray want mixed doubles wild card for Wimbledon

Laura Robson and Jamie Murray have asked for a wild card into the mixed doubles competition at this summer's Wimbledon Championships, a request that the All England Club will almost certainly meet.

It will be the second time this year that Robson has partnered one of the Murray brothers, as she and Andy reached the final of the pre-season Hopman Cup exhibition in Perth in January, finishing as the runners-up to Spain.

In a couple of years, Robson could find herself having to choose between Jamie and Andy Murray as her partner for the Olympic tennis event.

Jamie is something of a mixed doubles specialist. In 2007, he flirted and giggled his way to the Wimbledon title with Jelena Jankovic, with the Serbian telling him that good shots would be rewarded with kisses. In 2008, he featured in the mixed final at the US Open with America's Liezel Huber.

Anna Kournikova and Martina Hingis, a doubles pairing who used to call themselves the 'Spice Girls' of women's tennis, are to play together in the 'golden oldies' veterans' competition at Wimbledon.

Hingis tested positive for cocaine during the 2007 tournament, but completed her two-year ban last season. When they were still on the tour, Hingis and Kournikova won a couple of Australian Open doubles titles together, in 1999 and 2002.
