Job description

REPORTS TO: CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENTS

MAIN FUNCTIONS

  • Technical specialist resource to the Site Team in the field of pipeline hydrotest related issues and methodologies.
  • Check to ensure that the Contractor’s temporary pigging and testing equipment, temporary facilities (launchers, receivers, manifolds, test heads) are installed in accordance with the Contractor’s approved hydrotest procedures
  • Ensure all safeguards for a safe hydrotest are in place in accordance with the approved hydrotest procedures

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor Contractor’s work activities for pipeline cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering and drying.
  • Ensures work is carried out in accordance with the approved hydrotest procedures for each work site.
  • Assist with the development and approval of the Contractor’s hydrotest plans and procedures.
  • Ensures all test headers have been fabricated and pre-tested in compliance with industry and project standards.
  • Ensures all material (ie. pipe, fittings and valves) used for test headers is new and clearly marked and traceable.
  • Works with other Company Specialists and Advisors to verify Environmental, Regulatory and technical compliance at water extraction sites, test sites and water discharge sites.
  • Ensure that all testing data and records are preserved and supplied to the appropriate Contractor and/or Company personnel required for system and subsystem turnover.

Job requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to speak fluent English (Ability to speak Pidgen is a plus)
  • Must be conversant in applicable codes and standards
  • 15-20 years relevant experience with at least 5 years in a similar role
  • Preference given to large diameter pipeline experience and mountain experience
  • Previous ExxonMobil or affiliate experience a plus
  • Previous international experience with an EPC firm or Owner a plus
  • Must have worked or be willing to work in an overseas country where cultural diversities are understood and respected.
  • Must have worked or be willing to work in a subtropical climate where certain diseases and health hazards are more prevalent yet can be eliminated/mitigated by diligently following Project health policies.
  • Must be willing to step up into other roles and responsibilities when requested in order to cover shortages in Site Team resources
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environmental and be able to react to issues in an aggressive yet productive manner
