I've Been Turned into a Cartoon

Posted on May 22, 2010 10:28 AM

Several years ago someone drew a characture of me as the "mayor" of WorldVillage.com, my first website. I'm having a hard time locating the original image, so I don't have it to show to you. However, in my quest to put Fiverr.com to the test, I decided to try this one out... I will design/create a comic character or cartoon for $5. Continue Reading

JoelComm.com - The Movie

Posted on May 21, 2010 9:08 AM

What if we presented websites like movies? Every website would need a movie trailer telling people what was to come. It would have to be dramatic and voiced by some guy that you would be afraid to meet in a dark alley. In the first of my experiments with Fiverr.com, I found this listing... I will do a "movie trailer" style voiceover for your website/podcast/business, etc... for $5. I paid my $5 and the provider... Continue Reading

Joel

Posted on May 7, 2010 8:18 AM

Joel. It's not a common name. In fact, it is the 280th most common first name. The Old Testament contains a book of Joel. He is referenced as one of twelve Minor Prophets. The word "minor" has to do with the length of the book, not implying that Joel was a small guy or that his prophecies were in any way less significant. I mean, let's face it... a Word from God is a Word... Continue Reading

A Letter to Panera - Bring Back the Chicken Bacon Dijon

Posted on April 13, 2010 11:39 AM

I've been a fan of The Panera Bread Company for years. They have many tasty menu items that I enjoy. But this winter they introduced a Chicken Bacon Dijon sandwich that quickly became my new favorite. It's a grilled chicken panini with bacon and a sweet honey Dijon dressing. Add a bowl of chicken noodle soup to the deal and I'm a happy man. I walked into the restaurant this week, my appetite anticipating a... Continue Reading

Whether you have read my books or acquired material from other sources, you are probably pretty clear on the "how" to make money on... Continue Reading

But as I began taking my blog more seriously, I began creating more original content that brought value to others. My expertise in online business, site monetization, iPhone applications and other areas proved valuable for... Continue Reading

Professional Speakers Cursing From the Stage

Posted on March 13, 2010 12:00 AM

While viewing my Twitter stream, I encountered a tweet from an associate that included an expletive. We're talking the F-bomb. I've heard this person speak before and I was reminded of how often he cursed in a keynote before thousands of people. While I have great respect for this indivdual and what he has accomplished, I couldn't help but wonder if he knew how much of his audience he was alienating. I put out a... Continue Reading
