Classical Awards

The annual Classical Music Awards are presented by APRA and the Australian Music Centre (AMC). These awards honour the achievements of composers, performers and industry specialists in the contemporary classical genre.

In an area of music not driven by fame or money, the recognition that these Awards give to practitioners of contemporary classical music is very important. Today, these Awards are still the only Awards specifically for the contemporary classical or new music scene in Australia.

April 2010 Update:

The Classical Music Awards are being revamped during 2010, and the event will now cover a broader area of music activity, including jazz. Please note: performance activity in 2009 will still be eligible for nomination in the new awards.

Discussions are currently taking place between the stakeholders, and we hope to have more details on this later in the year. Stay connected to APRA|AMCOS and The Australian Music Centre for announcements in the second half of 2010.
