When you search with Cuil, we do not keep any personally identifiable information, period. Your search history is your business.


Cookies are often used to track an individual user over time by inserting a unique identifier into the cookie. We do not do this. We only store your preferences that are clearly seen on our preference panel, e.g. Language and Safe Search.

Cuil’s role is to direct you to other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their actions.


Advertisements are from a third-party and when you click on ads, we direct you to another website. To place ads in the first place, we transmit the IP address, browser type, and the query to the third party. If you want to opt out, please visit the preferences panel.

Uses of Communications

We value and encourage open communications. Therefore do not send us communications via our site that you want to keep confidential.
