Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University seeks to understand the needs of a diverse Oregon community.

Intentional dialog and partnerships with our stakeholders are an important part of helping us more effectively define and share our research with Oregon communities who need the right information at the right time to be successful in the 21st century.

Towards that end, our commitment is to work more collaboratively with our rural and urban communities and expand our offering of online degrees and non-degree education through OSU Extended Campus courses.

Robert Emanuel - Oregon State University Sea Grant (02:14)

Robert Emanuel builds partnerships in water resources and community development with communities and municipal organizations along the Oregon north coast.
Sharon Johnson - Family and Community Health (03:13)

Sharon Johnson, Assistant Professor in Family and Community Health, reaches Oregonians by translating her scholastic and professional activity into community-based programs.
Richard Nafshun - Chemistry Department (01:34)

Dr. Richard Nafshun teaches general chemistry courses using web-based instruction. His online chemistry courses incorporate virtual lab exercises and are part of a sequenced set of college-level chemistry courses offered by OSU.
Weston Miller - Metro Master Gardener Program (02:31)

Weston Miller, Community and Urban Horticulturist in the Portland Metro area, leverages volunteerism to extend the reach of Oregon State University's Master Gardener program in Clackamas county. Weston utilizes technology to facilitate volunteer participation.
Kathryn Ciechanowski - College of Education (2:23)

Kathryn Ciechanowski works in Oregon State University's College of Education as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Ciechanowski is the lead for OSU Extended Campus' online ESOL/Bilingual Endorsement, which is one of the most popular endorsements for K-12 teachers in Oregon.
