Flirty e-mails between newscaster Alycia Lane and married NFL Network sportscaster Rich Eisen may hurt Lane in her suit against CBS for wrongful termination.

She calls him "arm candy." He calls her a "hottie."

And there's lots more banter like that in dozens of flirty e-mails between naughty newscaster Alycia Lane and married NFL Network sportscaster Rich Eisen in court papers filed quietly in Philadelphia.

Lane, who got fired from her job as a Philly anchorwoman two years ago after she was arrested for slugging an NYPD cop, insists her relationship with the high-profile football expert was "purely platonic."

Her lawyer is trying to bury those messages - as well as e-mail exchanges with WCBS anchor Chris Wragge, a former boyfriend - as the brunette beauty presses a wrongful termination suit against CBS.

It's not hard to understand why.

Consider this syrupy exchange from Nov. 15, 2006, a day after Eisen asked Lane, "What would they say if I just flew into Philly and swept you off your feet?"

"I'm just glad you're in my life =)," Lane wrote.

"My timing has never been right with you anyway," Eisen replied.

Later in the exchange, Eisen called her a "rhyming vixen" and she complimented him on being "oh, so charming" and playfully called him a "retard."

"Top story tonight," she wrote. "Rich Eisen is intelligent AND hot. ... Larry?"

Larry is Lane's former co-anchor, Larry Mendte.

"I'm sweet on you kid," he replied, a few messages later.

That Thanksgiving, Eisen messaged Lane, "Happy Thanksgiving, hottie."

Then they discussed what the CBS lawyers, in court papers, referred to as a "prior encounter in Miami."

"There was no encounter," Lane's lawyer, Paul Rosen, told the Daily News. "The e-mails were all taken out of context. There is not one sexual overtone in any of that. These don't even suggest they held hands."

Rosen said CBS was trying to "dirty up" Lane by releasing e-mails that Mendte later admitted stealing from the company system.

"You're printing fruit from a poisonous tree," Rosen warned.

Lane, who is with an NBC affiliate in Los Angeles, could not be reached for comment.

Mark Schwemler, a lawyer for CBS, declined to discuss the case.

"That filing pretty much speaks for itself," he said.

The filing does not contain any e-mails Lane exchanged with Wragge, who also declined to discuss the case.

Lane raised suspicions about a romance with Eisen in 2007 when she e-mailed him bikini shots of herself on the beach - that were intercepted by his wife, sports reporter Suzy Shuster.

Shuster was not pleased. The twice-divorced Lane quickly apologized and insisted she was "not looking for [love] with a married man."
