Join CPAWS OV for a spring hike to the La Blanche Forest in Mayo, Quebec. The hike will depart from the La Blanche Forest Interpretation Centre at 1:00 PM and should last for about 2 hours. The La Blanche Forest ? an extremely rare old-growth forest - was protected in 2003 thanks to the efforts of CPAWS OV. For information and directions, please visit www.lablanche.ca. Please note that a discounted admission fee of $4.00 per person will be in effect for those taking part in the CPAWS event.

The National Capital Environmental Network is open to all environmental organizations within the National Capital region.  Please bring an update from your organization for the Roundtable.  If you would like this update circulated electronically and posted on the website, e-mail a brief update before the event to

Spring Capacity-Building Workshop: Funder Forum
The Spring capacity-building workshop will be a Funder Forum that links environmental groups to local funding agencies.  There will be a workshop on grant-writing and evaluation, as well as presentations from different funding agencies and an opportunity to meet one-on-one with these agencies. Join CPAWS Ottawa Valley and up and coming Ottawa fashion designers for a fashion show in support of the Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Canadian Parks Wilderness Society (CPAWS-OV).

 

Funds raised will help CPAWS-OV protect some of our favourite wilderness areas, such as Algonquin and Gatineau Parks while working to establish new parks and protected areas in eastern Ontario and western Quebec.  

 

The show will take place at 9:00 p.m. on July 26 at Barrymore's Music Hall in Ottawa and will feature designs by:

  • Asphalt Rouge (street clothing);
  • Eco-wear by Gabby Ewen (organic and natural);
  • Swimwear by One of Us
