Minimalist Movie Posters

By marcmywords in Arts & Crafts on Jun 11, 2010 at 9:06 pm

There’s a set of 54 beautifully designed minimalist movie posters over at NewsRadio 1290 WJNO, including Jaws, The Dark Knight, and Star Wars, though my favorites have to be The Fly and Psycho. It’s wonderful how the essence of a film can be conveyed so simply. In a world where more is better, these posters are definitely refreshing.

Want more? Check out these minimalist posters based on Stephen King books, and these awesome Star Wars planet posters.

    Wow, is that stuff still around? By now, about every effing page on the interwebs has posted some minimalistic moviescreens/gamepackage/cd-covers/whatever, it's not funny anymore.

    This is a really cool collection, but it was (for me anyway) overshadowed by all the adverts surrounding it and then a further FIVE video ads between the posters. I just wanted to see the work, not have lousy ads shoved in my face!

    It seems as if this has been done to death.

    @Roo

    I totally agree! I thought the whole window was like a pop up ad haha.

    I do love these posters though.

    What Roo said, plus a 54 click slide show? NO! NO! NO!

    With AdBlock plus, this wasn't bad at all. The only ads I saw were just text ads on the right. The 5 or so frames that were ads were just plain white to me so it wasn't too bad.
