Editorial Review
Though I've spent many miles on Michelin's Pro-2 Race tires I hadn't sampled them in the fatter 25c size until last spring while testing the Editor's Choice Plush category winning Giant Defy Advanced 1. The Giant was smooth-riding yet still fast and sporty feeling and I wondered how much of that feeling was because of the tires. So, afterwards I got a set of the full-figured Pro-2 Race tires to see if it was the frame or the tires that felt so good--turns out it is was a bit of both. I've rotated these tires among a wide variety of test bikes and they never fail to impress me with their supple ride, speed and amazing grip on the road--especially over rough or even dirt sections. These Michelins even added a fair amount of plushness to an old-school oversized aluminum frame that I can't seem to part with. At 214 grams they're about 15 grams heavier than their 23c counterparts but I can't really feel the difference on the road. What I can feel is a supple ride quality that reminds me in many ways of a tubeless or tubular tire but you don't need any kind of special wheel or rim to experience these. Like almost every high-performance tire the 25c Pro-2 Race isn't cheap and wears faster than average but the amazing ride and superb road grip can give almost any bike a plusher feel. Unlike the 23c size, which is available in a rainbow of colors, the 25c size only comes in black so those who like to color coordinate their components will be a bit disappointed. Compared to the price of tubeless or tubular wheels the 25c Pro-2 Race is an affordable way to add comfort to your bike without killing performance or your bank account.

Yes, the 25c's are great, seem less likely to flat, are quieter, and are amazingly comfortable compared to the 23c. Need to deflate the rear tire a bit to remove from my Felt F2 carbon bike.

Star Rating: 5 Review By Larry Ring, Rides for Transportation:
I love these tires. They stick to the road in all conditions. They are fantastic in the rain. I recommend the 25 size to older riders and heavier riders for the comfort factor. I ride a 25 in the back and a 23 on the front on both my bikes.
