ADAM Liaw snared an immunity pin last night but the MasterChef contender said he lacked the technique to go all the way.

In spite of his win in the cook-off against Aaron Harvie during which he whipped up a near-perfect silken tofu dish, Liaw said the competition had exposed his weaknesses as a cook.

"If you don't have that breadth of technique you're going to struggle," he said.

Liaw is just the second person to score immunity.

Competition favourite Marion Grasby was the first.
