Holland winger Arjen Robben has arrived in South Africa ahead of Monday’s World Cup opener against Denmark.
Robben suffered a small tear in his hamstring during the World Cup warm-up clash with Hungary last weekend, and the injury would normally take around five weeks to heal.
But the 26-year-old has been undergoing intensive treatment and physio Dick van Toorn claimed on Friday that Robben would b fit to face the Danes.
However, coach Bert van Marwijk claims he will not risk the Bayern Munich star re-injuring himself and looks likely to leave him out.
Van Marwijk said: “We must avoid a relapse, as I have said in the last few days. Arjen has played virtually no football or trained in the last three weeks.”
Holland are 4/7 favourites to win the game with Paddy Power, with a Denmark victory 13/2 (totesport). The draw is 16/5 (totesport).
