Camp in a Kit

"As a mother of 2 children with Diabetes, I cannot thank the ADA  enough.  Camp Midicha is a unique opportunity for these kids to be with children like them.  It is a chance for them to not feel alone, different or less than their peers.  At camp, children with diabetes explore, swim, hike, and play while knowing that the medical staff will keep them safe.  At camp, everyone has to prick their finger before meals, everyone has to count their carbohydrates, everyone has to get insulin, everyone has to carry fast-acting sugar to treat lows, and everyone learns how to live better with a chronic disease.  The sense of community that is built at camp continues to empower these children throughout the year.  Thank you for making this life-affirming camp experience possible for children in Michigan."
