gasWashington, June 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems that the recent oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is hurting British-based global energy company, BP in more ways than one.

As large amount of oil continues to spill in the largest offshore spill in the history of the United States, hundreds of miles away from the Gulf Of Mexico, owners of gas stations have to bear the brunt as the sales in the stations is said to have gone down significantly due to the incident.

It has come to light that many owners of gas stations across the United States have been complaining of a major fall in the sales since the extensive damage that the oil spill has caused to life forms along the Gulf of Mexico.

Shahzad Aslam, a local BP gas station owner has revealed to news sources that following the oil spill incident, the sales in his gas station has gone down by 40 per cent as gas pumps are lying almost unused for most parts of the day. Meanwhile, Shahzad Aslam is not the only gas station owner complaining out here as many other BP station owners have reiterated that sales have been really disappointing lately.

The rather difficult scenario for the gas station owners has fueled as reportedly more and more Americans are pledging not to buy BP in the wake of the environmental disaster caused by the oil giant.

The massive ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is considered to be one of the largest oil spills all across the world as experts fear that it might have huge detrimental impacts on marine and wildlife habitats of the region.
