Four-Year Deals For Kafka, Harbor

June 15, 2010 | Last Updated: 6/15/10 1:24 PM ET | Comments (0)

There are only four draft picks left for the Eagles to get under contract as quarterback Mike Kafka and tight end Clay Harbor were each signed to a four-year deal on Tuesday.

With the two fourth-round picks in the mix, the Eagles have to get their top three picks - defensive end Brandon Graham, safety Nate Allen and defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim - and fifth-round pick Riley Cooper under contract. The rookies and selected vets are not scheduled to report to Lehigh University for training camp until July 26.

Kafka was the 122nd overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft after he was a second-team All-Big Ten selection as a senior. The former Northwestern Wildcat led the conference in passing yards (3,430), total offense (3,729), completion percentage (64.8 percent) and interception percentage (2.44) last season. In addition to his ability to throw the ball, Kafka finished his college career with 887 rushing yards which was the third-highest total in school history. Kafka worked in as the third-team quarterback during the OTAs behind starter Kevin Kolb and backup Michael Vick.

The 6-3, 252-pound Harbor was the only of the Eagles' league-high 13 draft picks not to attend a BCS school. A standout at Missouri State, Harbor was a three-time All-American selection as he set a school record with 150 career catches for 1,906 yards and 10 touchdowns. Even though he's a fourth-round pick, Harbor will be tested in training camp by a bevy of talented tight ends in Brent Celek, Cornelius Ingram and Martin Rucker. Harbor can also be moved around the formation and line up as an H-back.
