Last week we
posted a story that Warner Home Video's releases for
Smallville - The Complete 9th Season on
DVD ($59.98 SRP) and
Blu-ray Disc ($69.98 SRP) would be available starting September 14th. Now Warner has officially announced of the title, and in finalizing the release date they've moved it closer by a week, to
September 7th! It will be 6 discs on the DVD version, and 4 discs on the Blu-ray set, with Bonus Material that consists of Unaired Scenes, Cast/Creator Commentaries on episodes "Idol" and "Kandor", and 2 Featurettes: "Kneel Before Zod" (an in-depth look at the dynamic criminal from Krypton, his origins in DC's silver age, and his various appearances in more recent film, animation, and live-action television) and "Justice for All" (a script-to-screen featurette in which we'll meet with
Smallville Creatives as they bring one of comic books' iconic team of superheroes to television for the first time). Video is widescreen, with high-def 1080p resolution on the BD version. Audio options are identical on both versions, with English Dolby Surround 5.1 and Portuguese Stereo soundtracks. Subtitles are in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese, and Thai on the DVD and are in Spanish, French, and Portuguese on the Blu-ray. Running time is 1012 minutes.
