The Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society (RAHGS) located in Macomb County, Michigan, is a non-profit organization established in January 1990 when a group of citizens gathered in the Richmond Public Library to pursue a common interest: the preservation of a 19th Century one-room schoolhouse, which then was located in the middle of a cornfield owned by James McKiernan of Richmond Township. Volunteer Opportunities

Our weekly Work Bees are in full swing. Volunteers can join us every Thursday morning at 8:00am to help tackle some of the projects we have going. If you are available, please join Norm Gibson at the Blacksmith Shop...we'll supply the coffee & donuts!

DOCENTS NEEDED
Ever wonder what we mean when we ask for "docents" for our village? The dictionary defines a docent as a teacher or lecturer. We don't expect our docents to lecture but we do hope you can help people learn about our village and to make this easy for you we have developed information binders for our docents to use. If you are interested in giving this a try please give us a call at 586-727-7773.
