This is my Grad film from IADT.

A short documentary on the life of retired Dublin based super hero, Ultra-Man

Animated and coloured in flash using a Wacom, then composited in After Effects. The background was shot with a Sony Z1.

I Hope you enjoy!

Thx. Character's style is briliant - he looks and sounds damn sad... Sad on past, 'n freedom... It's perfectly actual nowadays. Thx, great job!..

Special thx on: "I don't recognize Dublin" - contrast beetwen drawn and real worlds sounds here especially facinating. May be this film'll help me finding a way to act in a play i'm now acting in... Theme sounds similar...

    P.S. 'xcuse for my english...

Wow! Just loved it!!! You have a great mind. Made me remember the melancholy of the masterpiece Waking Life by Richard Linklater. Great visuals and fantastic storytelling. Last scene is perfect in every form!!! THANKS!

Hey John! Nice job. I'm a Digital Media student in Toronto, Canada and trying to learn and develop my artistic skills and explore graphic art too.
I need all the inspiration I can find, for sure.

Wow. I'm so glad that you didn't go down the more light-hearted route; this was so poignant.
  • John Walsh 3 days ago
Thanks, I'm glad too, its hard cause sometimes it seems that all people want to see from animation is comedy.
Not knocking all the great animated comedy's out there or anything, I just like a bit of variety is all.

John, this was terribly good. Not a wasted scene, space. Just excellent. Great angles, tone, story, i hope someone picks this up and asks you to make something a little longer with it.
  • John Walsh 2 days ago
Thanks! Yeah that would be great, although I'm happy just to get featured :)
