Customer Alert:

Chicago River Bridge Lifts

Route(s):
Pink Line Green Line Brown Line
Length:
Saturday, April 17, 2010
to TBD
Impact Level:
Normal Service*

Full Description:

How does this affect my trip?
During spring and summer, the bridges on the Chicago River are periodically opened to allow boats to pass. Bridge lifts typically occur late mornings on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but may occur at other days and times as required by the City of Chicago.

When Chicago River bridge openings are scheduled, Brown, Green and Pink line service is impacted. Customers should expect delays of approximately 5-10 minutes as a result of bridge lifts, and plan accordingly. We will post a customer alert and provide alternate travel information if a bridge opening lasts more than 10 minutes.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.
