According to a report on Bild.de, Turkish giants Fenerbahce have decided to part company with German head coach Christoph Daum after the club's disappointing performances in the 2009-10 campaign.

Daum was brought in during the summer of 2009 to guide the Istanbul titans to their first domestic title since 2006-07, but Fenerbahce eventually just missed out on the league crown. The Yellow Canaries finished runners-up behind surprise package Bursaspor.

The experienced coach's Fenerbahce deal was originally due to expire in the summer of 2012, but the Turkish outfit have now parted company with Daum with immediate effect. Daum will reportedly receive compensation worth €2.3 million.

Fenerbahce have yet to confirm the report, but they are expected to release an official statement concerning the situation of the 56-year-old Daum later on Friday.
