ABC News 24 logo (Source: Freeview)The campaign for the new Freeview electronic program guide (EPG) has shown the first glimpse of the ABC News 24 logo.

As revealed in the Media Spy forums yesterday, the logo (pictured) can be seen fifteen seconds into the recently launched promo.

Freeview has since denied numerous speculation that it leaked the design, confirming permission had been granted by the public broadcaster, TV Tonight reports.

The consortium, which is responsible for Australia’s free-to-air digital television service, said the logo was already featured in a coming soon promo on ABC TV.

As previously reported in TSR, there has been some internal controversies at the public broadcaster, after it commissioned a British design studio to produce the channel’s graphics package.

The new twenty-four hour news channel is due to launch next month.
