Civil disobedience not the norm for First Nations looking to end grievances

In the last 20 years aboriginal frustrations have boiled over into militant action elsewhere in Canada — at Gustafson Lake, B.C., Ipperwash, Ont., Caledonia, Ont., and Burnt Church, N.B. But beyond such isolated cases, most First Nations have pursued their demands peacefully.
