Charlie Gibson Joins Hall of Fame

In the midst of snowstorm in Chicago, hundreds gathered at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Chicago to welcome Charles Gibson of ABC World News into the IBA Hall of Fame. Gibson, after broadcasting World News with Charles Gibson from the ABC 7 studios, joined IBA members and their guests for a reception and dinner award presentation. Charles Gibson, a native of Evanston, Illinois, told those gathered that at a very young age he cultivated his passion for news and knew that his destiny was to broadcast the most important news of the day to Americans. Several video presentations highlighted Gibson's rise to his current position of World News Anchor. He joked with the audience that once the name of the broadcast was changed to World News with Charles Gibson, he felt certain he had the job. And what a job he has done delivering the news from all over the world right to our homes and often dinner tables. Congratulations Charlie Gibson!
