ATLANTA (AP) A Georgia Tech student is suing the school and a Cobb County metal fabricator after he suffered injuries when a hand rail broke and he fell off Tech's iconic car, the Ramblin' Wreck.

Nicholas Brown's suit, filed Wednesday in Fulton Superior Court, names Tech, the company and the state of Georgia as defendants. It accuses the school of ``promoting the unsafe use of a vehicle by students.''

Brown, a member of the Ramblin' Reck Club, a student group that cares for the iconic 1930 Ford Model A Sports Coupe, was standing on the passenger-side running board as the car was being driven on April 16, 2009 when the railing broke. Brown's suit says he was hospitalized for four days with a head injury. The suit does not ask for specific damages.

I remember when this happened. The kid cracked his head open and had to have multiple surgeries. It happened a week before finals and the school flunked him for all his classes.

Judging from BILL's comment, Tech must not grade based on grammer and proper use of sentence structure.

I thought we had a seat belt law in Georgia.

His group was also in charge of care and maintenance on the car.

Standing on the running boards? Sounds like the safest place to ride.

Time to park it and put a fence around the wreck.
  • Ramblin' Wreck
Georgia Tech is a sissy school, and this is proof. Lol...just thought I'd stir the pot this morning!
  • Ramblin' Wreck
What does the kid expect?!? It's called a "Ramblin Wreck" for a reason!

Hmm...what do you want to bet this kid will mysteriously lose his financial aid package?
