The BARFL is the oldest Australian Football competition in the Northern Hemisphere and one of the oldest outside of Australia.
Since its early beginnings as an ex-pat Australian competition the League has grown to the stage where a minimum of half the players in the team must be British/Irish/European competing side by side with Australians.
The League is continuing to develop with new all-British competitions such as the club based SANZA Brit Cup, national representative tours to Denmark and the Atlantic Alliance Cup becoming regular fixtures on the calendar.

SANZA Teaching Agency Britkick Programme
Pilot schemes have been run over the past 18 months at individual schools in London and Bristol. June 2002 will see the launch of the programme into initially 8 schools around London consisting of a series of clinics, intra school practice matches, inter school games and inter regional competitions. The outcome over the next 12 months will determine whether we are successful in efforts to get the sport recognised on schools' curriculum giving us greater scope to introduce the sport to other schools.
