The English-language "Inception" trailer is finally here (for some reason, a French-language trailer leaked last week. Zut alors!), and what we have here is a setup for one heck of a mystery.
A lot more intriguing than the poster, the trailer is showing us that Christopher Nolan is treading in territory of big concepts and complex ideas, great visuals and atmospheric music that builds nicely. It throws at us tidbits about stealing ideas, going into people's minds, and reshaping reality, all backed up with impressive special effects. This is heady intellectual science-fiction land, and all of Nolan's films have lived in that part of the map where the brain and fantasy intersect.
The trailer makes me want to know more and see more (so good job on that front, Warner Bros.) even though I know little about what's going on or what the images even mean. My only fear is that movies with reality-altering settings or that take place in the mind can go either way, with filmmakers playing fast and loose with rules they initially set up in order to suit their needs.
This will probably be one of the best films of the summer, saw the first full length trailer last night at the Sherlock Holmes movie, and I have to say, WOW, it looks awesome, love the visual effects, the score sounds amazing, and the actors and director tied to this film will insure this movie will not disappoint.
