Wow, I knew Splinter Cell wouldn't be Microsoft Exclusive for ever, but I didn't think it would come to Mac before PS3, but thats absolutely great for Mac gaming, that game is brilliant. The question is, what about that DRM from the PC side of things, will it make the trip over to the Mac.

Settlers 7 on Mac had the same Ubisoft DRM as its PC counterpart, IIRC.

@Glitch W

well then its obvious that MS paid for it to be an exclusive... so i give it by fall to reach the PS3, maybe spring 2011 but by then it would be stupid.

also i remember having read that if a pre-exclusive came to the PS3 Sony wanted the devs to put in more content before they would allow it to be ported. hope we get something nice at least

@Grey You're not really missing much. It feels more like "24: the game" than "Splinter Cell" and the plot has more holes than a bloody sieve.

Also, infinite ammo + suppressed weapons. Big no no in stealth games.

Good to hear; I might check out Conviction, although it seems like something I'd rather play on consoles (I basically only use PC for FPS and strategy games). I'll be waiting to see if it comes to PS3.

I find this fascinating. Microsoft would rather lose ground to Apple than Sony.

@Shadsy Not necessarily. I think Microsoft's deal is probably up by then.

@Shadsy

I think MS is going to regret squandering Windows as a gaming platform. PC were ubiquitous with gaming and they have been backing away from that image for the past 5-6 years. Halo is released as an afterthought on the PC platform, they no long produce games on the Windows platform and they are now giving up ground on the gaming front.

I'm sure that years from now, Steam going to Linux and MAC will be seen as the turning point where Microsoft started losing their relevance for Windows as a gaming platform.

I really don't understand Microsoft's strategy here. Will they pull an IE fail and go from 95% dominance to 60% in this market as well?

My Mac only has an Intel GMA 950, so it's lucky I've got both on the 360!

@Ethan My MacBook Pro has a 9600GT and 9400GT. I'm very happy with my laptop's performance :) looking forward to these games being released. 2 less reasons to boot into Windows.

Hopefully this means Conviction will come to PS3 as well. I've played every game in the series, and I really want to play this one!

I wonder if Ubisoft will be adding the Mac ports to Steam so people who bought AC2 or Conviction on Steam will also have the Mac version. (I hope they do, because no big publisher has done so so far. Maybe if they start it more will follow.)

i hope its not a gawd aweful port like the pc version. it was plagued by random stuttering with ati cards(no driver updates fixed it, i had to downgrade my drivers to REALLY old versions for it to work o.k., and it still had problems)
